We construct supergravity plus branes solutions, which we argue to be related 4d $\mathcal{N}=1$ SQCD with a quartic superpotential. The geometries depend on the ratio ${N}_{f}/{N}_{c}$ can kept of order one, present good singularity at origin, and are weakly curved elsewhere. support our field theory interpretation by studying variety features like $R$-symmetry breaking, instantons, Seiberg duality, Wilson loops pair creation, running couplings, domain walls. Within the AdS/CFT correspondence, we review studies of field theories with a large number adjoint and fundamental fields, in Veneziano limit. We concentrate set‐ups where fundamentals are introduced by smeared set D‐branes. make emphasis on general ideas then subsequent chapters that can be read independently describe particular considerations various different models. Some new material is presented along sections.

A bstract Spectra of stochastic gravitational waves (GW) generated in cosmological first-order phase transitions are computed within strongly correlated theories with a dual holographic description. The mostly used as models dark sectors. In particular, we consider the so-called Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model, SU( N ) gauge theory coupled to different matter fields both fundamental and adjoint representations. model has well-known top-down description which allows us perform reliable...

We analyze the time evolution of a system two coexisting languages (Castillian Spanish and Galician, both spoken in northwest Spain) framework model given by Abrams Strogatz [Nature 424, 900 (2003)]. It is shown that, contrary to model's initial prediction, stable bilingual situation possible if competition are similar enough. Similarity described with simple parameter, whose value can be estimated from fits data.

In this paper we make further refinements to the duality proposed between $N=1$ SQCD and certain string (supergravity plus branes) backgrounds, working in regime of comparable large number colors flavors. Using theory solutions, predict different field observables phenomena like Seiberg duality, gauge coupling its running, behavior Wilson 't Hooft loops, anomalous dimensions quark superfields, quartic superpotential continuous discrete anomaly matching. We construct a new, simple phenomenological model along the lines of AdS/QCD. The essential new ingredient is brane-antibrane effective action including open string tachyon proposed by Sen [Phys. Rev. D 68, 066008 (2003).]. Chiral symmetry breaking happens because dynamics. fit large number low-spin meson masses at 10%--15% level. only free parameters involved in fits correspond to overall QCD scale and quark masses. Several aspects previous models are qualitatively improved.

Using the holographic correspondence as a tool, we study dynamics of first-order phase transitions in strongly coupled gauge theories at finite temperature. Considering an evolution from large to small temperature phase, compute nucleation rate bubbles true vacuum metastable phase. We study the static potential between external quark-antiquark pairs in a strongly coupled gauge theory with large number of colors and massive dynamical flavors, using dual string description. When constituent mass quarks is set below certain critical value, we find first-order phase transition linear Coulomb-like regime. Above two phases are smoothly connected. also dependence on parameters separation at which configuration decays into specific static-dynamical mesons.
