Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) are the most common device-associated healthcare-acquired and pose a significant burden on patients healthcare systems worldwide. However, there is paucity of data CAUTI epidemiology microbiology in Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, including Lebanon.
To report the microbiological profile of pathogens implicated in blood stream infections (BSI) hospitalized coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients and to examine risk factors associated with multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) causing BSI.Between March 2020 September 2021, 1647 were COVID-19 at American University Beirut. From 85 patients, 299 positive cultures reported Infection Control Prevention Program. The BSI was defined as 1 culture for bacterial or fungal pathogens. following...
Despite multiple reports of increased incidence bacterial respiratory tract infections following COVID-19 globally, the microbiology is not yet fully elucidated. In this study, we describe and prevalence multidrug resistant organisms (MDROs) in hospitalized patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), hospital-acquired (HAP) which includes both non-ventilated hospital acquired (NVHAP) ventilator-associated (VAP). To our knowledge, first study that compares VAP NVHAP patients. This a...
Abstract Background : Despite multiple reports of increased incidence bacterial respiratory tract infections following COVID-19 globally, the microbiology is not fully elucidated. In this study, we describe and burden multidrug resistant organisms (MDROs) in hospitalized patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), non-ventilated hospital acquired (NVHAP) or ventilator-associated (VAP). To our knowledge, first study that compares VAP NVHAP patients. Methods: This a longitudinal...
