This paper reports U–Pb ages of detrital zircons from a series clastic and pyroclastic rocks the Murui Formation in southern Great Xing'an Range (GXR), NE China, with aim constraining depositional age this poorly dated unit. These data, combined petrographic sedimentology characteristics rocks, are used to constrain sediment sources tectonic setting provenance provide wider insight into evolution GXR during Late Mesozoic. Two lithic arkose samples have dominant groups at 249–250, 159–160,...
Adakite‐like volcanic rocks in the Moguqi area of central Great Xing'an Range NE China consist trachyandesites and trachydacites. These yield LA–ICP–MS U–Pb zircon ages 229.5–232.6 Ma. adakite‐like are high Sr (459–1960 ppm) MgO (1.2–4.3%), low Y (11.4–23.70 Yb (0.88–2.07 ppm), have Sr/Y ratios (37.17–146.31) Mg# values (0.43–0.58). characteristics similar to those derived from slab melting. However, existence Early Triassic stable continental sedimentary Laolongtou Formation does not favour...
