A series of 2-substituted benzothiazoles have been synthesized by the condensation 2-aminothiophenol with aldehydes (RCHO: R = Alkyl, Aryl, Heteroaryl, 2-Arylformyl) in presence a catalytic amount cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) "on water" one-pot procedure without additional organic solvents and oxidants. Thereinto, 2-alkylbenzothiazoles were high yields 2-arylformylbenzothiazoles obtained from arylformyl for first time using present protocol.
A variety of N-substituted pyrroles have been synthesized by reacting γ-diketones (R¹C(O)CH2CH2C(O)R²: R¹, R² = Me, Ph) with amines (RNH2: R=Alkyl, Aryl, TsNH) or diamines (1,6-diaminohexane and 1,2-diaminoethane) in the presence indium tribromide, trichloride trifluoromethanesulfonate at room temperature under solvent-free conditions. The experiment protocol features simple operations, products are isolated high to excellent yields (81-98%).
A new type of three-component reaction air-stable isochromenylium tetrafluoroborates with electron-rich stilbenes in acetonitrile has been developed under catalyst-free conditions this work. This cascade multibond-formation is initiated by an intermolecular oxa [4 + 2]-cycloaddition, relayed a nucleophilic addition acetonitrile, and terminated intramolecular Friedel–Crafts reaction, affording the corresponding benzo[c]phenanthridine analogues one step.
Abstract Metal triflates have been used to catalyze synthesis of β-enamino ketones or pyrroles from amines and 1,3-dicarbonyl 1,4-dicarbonyl compounds under solvent-free conditions, respectively. Among different metal screened, 0.5 mol% Ga(OTf)3 efficiently promoted the reactions give excellent yields. In addition, catalyst could be recovered easily after reused without evident loss in activity.
Visible IR-to-green photon-avalanche upconversion is reported in an Ho3+ singly doped β−Na(Y1.5Na0.5)F6 crystal under 980 nm excitation. Upconverted green, red, and IR emissions are observed at 540, 645, 751 nm, respectively. Temporal evolution excitation power dependent intensity measured, suggesting that a mechanism responsible for the process. It believed efficient cross relaxation (5S2,5I8)→(5I6,5I6) mainly performs population of 5I6 excited state, resulting intense emission synthesized samples.

Eu 3 + doped and Yb3+/Ho3+ codoped LuF3 YF3 nanoparticles with a size distribution of 200–300 nm have been prepared by adopting combustion-fluorization method.
