Five new terpenoids, including one isocamphane‐type monoterpenoid (1), labdane‐type diterpenoid (2), and three cadinane‐type sesquiterpenoids (3‒5), were isolated from the whole plant of Chloranthus holostegius. A combination spectral analysis (MS, UV, IR, 1D/2D NMR), quantum chemical calculations (NMR/ECD), X‐ray crystallography employed in structural characterization. In anti‐inflammatory assays, all isolates evaluated by examination their inhibitory effect on nitric oxide (NO)...
Two 11(9 → 10)-abeo-5,10-secosteroids possessing an unprecedented dioxatetraheterocyclic ring system, aspersecosteroids A (1) and B (2), a new ergosteroid, asperflosterol (3), were isolated from the sponge-derived fungus Aspergillus flocculosus 16D-1. Their structures determined by spectroscopic analysis, X-ray diffraction, computational methods. Compounds 1–3 demonstrated inhibitory effects on key pro-inflammatory cytokine production in THP-1 cells. biogenetic pathway with oxidative...
Five new imidazole derivatives (1–5), together with eight related known alkaloids, were isolated from a calcareous marine sponge, Leucetta chagosensis, collected the South China Sea. Their structures fully characterized by spectroscopic methods. Structurally, 1 possesses an unusual skeleton featuring and oxazolone rings linked via nitrogen atom, whereas 2 bears intriguing guanylurea-substituted ring. Compounds 4 5 identified as zinc complexes; they represent metal complex analogues of...
A novel 8(14→15)-abeo-ergostane-type steroid, asperflotone (1), and an ergostane asperfloroid (2), were isolated from the solid culture of Aspergillus flocculosus 16D-1. Their structures absolute configurations determined by high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, 1D/2D NMR, X-ray crystallography, quantum chemical calculations. Compound 1 is unprecedented ergosteroid featuring a rearranged bicyclo[4.2.1]non-2-ene ring system that could result α-ketol rearrangement during...
Nine new meroterpenoids, dactylospongins A–D, melemeleones C–E, dysidaminone N, and 19-O-methylpelorol, were isolated from the marine sponge Dactylospongia sp., which showed potent inhibitory effects on production of IL-6, IL-1β, IL-8, PEG2 in LPS-induced THP-1 cells with IC50 values 5.1–9.2 μM.
Abstract Four new PKS‐NRPS‐derived macrolide lactams with three unique ring fusion types were discovered from the Arctic sponge associated actinomycete Streptomyces somaliensis 1107 using a genome mining strategy. Their structures elucidated by combination of MS, NMR spectroscopic analysis, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Biosynthetically, novel gene cluster sml consisting polyketide synthases one hybrid synthase‐nonribosomal peptide synthetase together cytochrome P450s...
Cigarette smoking, a major independent risk factor of atherosclerosis, can cause oxidative and inflammatory damage vascular tissue. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is an endogenous cytoprotective enzyme with anti-oxidant role in cells. The aim the present study was to investigate whether HO-1 able protect endothelial cells from induced by cigarette smoking. It observed that smoking induce generation reactive oxygen species (ROS) carotid arteries rats. Hemin, widely used inducer, reduce ROS. In...
Chemical investigation of the marine sponge Dactylospongia elegans , collected from South China Sea, afforded three new dimeric sesquiterpene quinones, popolohuanones G – I ( 1 3 ), together with two known analogs, B 4 ) and C 5 ). The structures were determined by HR‐ESI‐MS 1D‐ 2D‐NMR analyses. All five compounds showed no cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell lines, while popolohuanone H 2 potent inhibitory IL‐6, an inflammatory cytokine, at concentration 10 μ m .
Both the therapeutic effects of regional hypothermia (RH) and somatosensory-evoked potentials (SSEP) have been intensively studied; however, in vivo relationship between two remains unknown. The primary focus current study was to investigate impact RH on SSEP uninjured rats, as well neural safety neuronal health. An epidural perfusion model used keep local temperature steady by adjusting speed at 30°C, 26°C, 22°C, 18°C for 30 min, respectively. Total hypothermic duration lasted up 3 h....
A novel ochratoxin-ergosteroid heterodimer, ochrasperfloroid (1), together with a known mycotoxin, ochratoxin (2), were isolated from the sponge-derived fungus Aspergillus flocculosus 16D-1. The structure of 1 was determined on basis 1D/2D NMR, HRESIMS/MS, and LC-UV/MS analysis its alkaline hydrolyzates, quantum-chemical 13C NMR calculation, comparison literature data. Of note, ergosteroid embedded in is also new structure. Ochrasperfloroid (1) showed potent inhibitory activity towards IL-6...
Two new polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols, along with four previously known compounds, were isolated and identified from the fruits of Garcinia oblongifolia. The structures these compounds elucidated through a combination spectroscopic techniques, including MS, UV, IR, 1D/2D NMR, as well their chemical properties. Additionally, cytotoxic activities 1‒6 against H134B cell line evaluated using MTT assay, revealing that 1 2 exhibit promising antitumor activity.
