In the framework of Forum for Air Quality Modelling in Europe (FAIRMODE), a modelling intercomparison exercise computing NO2 long-term average concentrations urban districts with very high spatial resolution was carried out. This undertaken district Antwerp (Belgium). quality data includes recorded air monitoring stations and 73 passive samplers deployed during one-month period 2016. The domain 800 × m2. Nine teams participated this providing results from fifteen different applications based...

Primary intraventricular hematomas account for approximately 6 % of all intracerebral hematomas. If the clot blocks cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pathways, surgical intervention, which may be different types, can life-saving. In case reported here, after careful preoperative planning use two rigid endoscopes permitted removal most and restoration CSF circulation by creation a 3rd ventriculostomy within same procedure no later treatment was necessary. Repeated CT scans proved that only small...

Abstract We consider the initial boundary value problem for homogeneous heat equation, with Dirichlet conditions. By maximum principle solution is nonnegative positive time if data are nonnegative. complement in a number of ways earlier studies possible extension this fact to spatially semidiscrete and fully discrete piecewise linear finite element discretizations, based on standard Galerkin method, lumped mass volume method. also provide numerical examples that illustrate our findings.

Abstract Vehicle routing problem is a well-known optimization in the logistics area. A special case of vehicle station replenishment which different types fuel have to be transported from depots customers. In this paper we study European petrol company. The contains several additional constraints such as time windows, sized compartment vehicles, and restrictions on vehicles that can serve customer. We introduce mixed integer linear programming model problem. To reduce size complexity MILP...

We present an open-source code, Xyst, intended for the simulation of complex-geometry 3D compressible flows. The software implementation facilitates effective use largest distributed-memory machines, combining data-, and task-parallelism on top Charm++ runtime system. Charm++’s execution model is asynchronous by default, allowing arbitrary overlap computation communication. Built-in automatic load balancing enables redistribution arbitrarily heterogeneous computational based real-time CPU...

This paper proposes approaches for combining the Iterated Greedy (IG) technique, as a presently state-of-the-art method, with recently proposed adapted version of Bacterial Evolutionary Algorithm (BEA) in order to efficiently solve Permutation Flow Shop Problem. The obtained techniques are evaluated via simulation runs carried out on well-known Taillard's benchmark problem set. Based experimental results hybrid methods compared each other and original (i.e. IG BEA algorithms).

Steplength thresholds for invariance preserving of three types discretization methods on a polyhedron are considered. For Taylor approximation type we prove that valid steplength threshold can be obtained by finding the first positive zeros finite number polynomial functions. Further, simple and efficient algorithm is proposed to numerically compute threshold. rational function derive preserving, which computed using an analogous as in case. The relationship between previous two forward...
