The 160 km2 Caledonian Fongen-Hyllingen complex is an extremely differentiated, layered, basic intrusion, synorogenically emplaced at 5–6 kb in the allochthonous Trondheim nappe complex, situated region of Norway. A zone gabbroic rocks without rythmic layering usually occurs along margin and a supposed feeder to least part preserved. wide variety magmatic sedimentary structures are present c. 10,000 m thick sequence rhythmically layered which vary from olivine-picotite cumulates base...
The Troodos complex of Cyprus has been interpreted as a slice oceanic crust formed from ultramafic magma in back‐arc basin. Recent investigations, however, have suggested that only the upper gabbros, sheeted dike complex, and lower lava sequence direct consequence seafloor spreading primary was basaltic composition. According to this model, suite related cumulates are not represented complex. A multivariate statistical analysis major element compositions 480 dikes 130 volcanic glasses...
Abstract. This study is a contribution to development of heterogeneity characterization facility for "next-generation" soil sampling aimed, example, at more realistic and controllable pesticide variability in laboratory pots experimental environmental contaminant assessment. The role quantification set exemplar parameters described, including brief background on how affects sampling/monitoring procedures pollutant studies. theory (TOS) variographic analysis has been applied develop general...
Palaeomagnetic results are presented from the c. 160 km2 Caledonian synorogenic layered Fongen-Hyllingen gabbro complex (of probable late Silurian age) located about 75 km SE of Trondheim, Norway, in allochthonous Seve-Køli Nappe Complex. A total 80 oriented samples eight sites northern part were investigated. After detailed af demagnetization two stable high coercivity components emerge: one with a well defined NW direction D=325°, I=−21° (α95=8°, N=8), and another, less defined, probably...
Summary Extremely fine-grained granular rocks are found interleaved with cumulates in some layered differentiated intrusions. The question arises as to whether these can be interpreted chilled magmas. If this were so it would allow the liquid line of descent determined directly. A study extremely differentiated, basic Fongen–Hyllingen complex, Norway, however, showed type cumulates. Fluctuations volatile pressure due crystallization a hydrous phase may give rise modal and grain-size variation
Abstract. This study is a contribution to development of heterogeneity characterisation facility for "next generation" sampling aimed at more realistic and controllable pesticide variability in laboratory pots experimental environmental contaminant assessment. The role soil on quantification set exemplar parameters, organic matter, loss ignition (LOI), biomass, microbiology, MCPA sorption mineralization described, including brief background how affects sampling/monitoring procedures...
Abstract Mineral graded rhythmic layering occurs throughout most of the Fongen—Hyllingen basic complex. Non-cumulate, fine-grained, granular rocks are found as a conformal part layered gabbros. In one particular locality isomodal coarse-grained structures developed within these non-cumulate rocks. These layers range mineralogically from olivine + Ca-rich pyroxene Ca-poor plagioclase to amphibole plagioclase. The sudden appearance high concentrations amphibole, without indications primocrysts...
Abstract Geological, lithological, petrographical, geochemical, and geochronological data in the Palaeoproterozoic Richtersveld Subprovince/Magmatic Arc (RMA) of Precambrian basement rocks Vioolsdrif Domain southern Namibia, strongly support linkages history formation between volcanic rock types Orange River Group (ORG) plutonic Suite (VS). Previous age dating indicates volcanics ORG are more-or-less synchronous with granitic phases VS. Geochemical, mineralogical, comprehensive field...
In Denmark reflection seismic data are intensively used for mapping ground water resources. However, due to variations in the near surface layers, significant quality encountered. Seismic modelling may be carried out, order understand influence of layers. lack reliable geological models this will normally not feasible. context we seek another approach, where is evaluated and compared borehole information, potentials other kinds information. By use multivariate analysis, a regression model...
