The occurrence of nine different types pharmaceuticals and caffeine were analyzed in various units three wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) their receiving rivers Beijing, China. Analyte concentrations determined using ultra performance liquid chromatograph-tandem quadruple mass spectrometers (UPLC-MS/MS) multiple-reaction monitoring. studied found all the WWTPs rivers. Their WWTP influents varied from 38 ng/L sulpiride to 89.5 microg/L caffeine, those effluents ranged 27 2.7 erythromycin....
Abstract Twelve selected pharmaceuticals including antibiotics, analgesics, antiepileptics and lipid regulators were analysed detected in water samples collected from 18 sampling sections along the three main urban rivers Yangpu District of Shanghai, China during four campaigns. Besides, algal growth inhibition test was conducted to preliminarily assess eco-toxicology induced by target rivers. Mean levels for most compounds generally below 100 ng/L at sections, with exception caffeine...
Anaerobic digestion (AD) of different organic wastes for biogas production under variable operating conditions was simulated with a steady-state implementation the modified IWA Digestion Model No. 1 (ADM1), and an input-output feedback control system using model as test platform developed. The main aim this study to compare characteristics in AD processes manage keep stable based on results simulation. two important factors, solid retention time (SRT) loading rate (OLR) (or ratio input flows...
Abstract The variation and fate of four endocrine‐disrupting compounds ( EDCs ) composed 4‐n‐nonylphenol (4‐n‐ NP ), bisphenol A BPA 17β‐estradiol E2 17α‐ethinylestradiol EE2 were investigated along treatment units in a sewage plant STP C hina with anaerobic, anoxic aerobic activated sludge processes. mean concentrations 64.8 ng/ L 115.3 171.5 920.7 the influents, 22.8 50.9 49.9 84.3 effluents. biological was more effective removing , from aqueous phase than primary treatment, while latter...
The removal of eight typical endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) in a full scale membrane bioreactor combined with anaerobic-anoxic-oxic process (A2/O-MBR) for municipal wastewater reclamation located Beijing was investigated. These EDCs, including 4-octylphenol (4-OP), 4-n-nonylphenol (4-n-NP), bisphenol A (BPA), estrone (E1), 17α-estradiol (17α-E2), 17β-estradiol (17β-E2), estriol (E3) and 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE2), were simultaneously analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry...
The removal of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) by a laboratory-scale membrane bioreactor (MBR) fed with synthetic sewage was evaluated and moreover, compared that sequencing batch reactor (SBR) operated under same conditions in parallel. Eight kinds typical EDCs, including 17β-estradiol (E2), estrone (E1), estriol (E3), 17α-ethynilestradiol (EE2), 4-octylphenol (4-OP), 4-nonylphenol (4-NP), bisphenol A (BPA) nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPnEO), were spiked into the feed. Their...
Nanofiltration, one of the effective water-purification technologies, can have a certain adsorption effect on two typical antibiotics sulfamethoxazole and azithromycin. In this paper, effects operating pressure, temperature, pH value initial feed concentration during nanofiltration were investigated. The results showed that rate by was 40%−99%. temperature had significant adsorption. change would affect nature antibiotics, while pressure only affected flux. Changing might lead to critical...
