The adsorption of two basic dyes, namely, methylene blue (MB) and malachite green (MG), onto natural rice husk (NRH) oxalic acid modified (MRH) was studied in a batch system. Factors influencing dyes such as the concentration adsorbate, pH, salt concentration, temperature, contact time were investigated. Langmuir Freundich isotherms used to fit equilibrium data, results showed that isotherm exhibited little better MG data by both adsorbents, while Freundlich seemed agree with MB adsorption....
The transport behaviour ofEscherichia coliandKlebsiellasp. was studied under saturated flow conditions to explore the effect of pore size distribution and bacteria cell properties on microbial transport.
Simultaneous adsorption of coexisting organic dyes from industrial wastewater is challenging, and the mechanisms coadsorption these remain unclear. Herein, renewable alginate hybridized with graphene oxide composites were used to investigate properties methylene blue (MB) neutral red (NR) in both single binary systems. In monocontaminant system MB or NR, isotherm followed Langmuir model. Both pseudo-first-order pseudo-second-order models could well describe kinetics NR. With regards process...
Dopamine modified peanut husks (PH/DA), a novel adsorbent, were investigated to enhance the adsorption capacity of dyes (neutral red, NR and crystal violet, CV) fluoroquinolone antibiotics (ofloxacin, OFLX enoxacin, ENO). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), thermo-gravimetric analysis differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC) Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method used characterize PH PH/DA. The findings demonstrated that physical...
This study characterized the properties of NaOH-modified grapefruit peel (MGP) and investigated its adsorption properties, specifically synthetic dyes neutral red (NR) malachite green (MG) onto MGP, in single binary systems by means batch techniques. The equilibrium data NR MGP fit well with both Langmuir Koble-Corrigan models, while Dubinin-Radushkevich models seemed to agree better MG adsorption. maximum quantities from model were 640.3 314.9 mg/g at 298 K, respectively. Elovich was a...
Abstract A citric acid modified peanut husk (MPH) was used as adsorbent for removal of neutral red (NR) and methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution. batch system applied to study the behavior NR MB adsorption in single binary systems on MPH. Such studies were conducted by varying various parameters such initial dye concentration, pH, salt temperature, contact time. Adsorption kinetic data fitted using pseudo-first-order equation, pseudo-second-order intraparticle diffusion model. The...
Column tracer and colloid transport experiments were performed under both saturated unsaturated steady state flow conditions in an aggregated porous medium with a bimodal pore size distribution (PSD): intra-aggregate porosity radius between 10–2 10–1 μm interaggregate ranged 101 103 (interporosity). All carried out unfavorable for physicochemical attachment to solid–water interfaces, using negatively charged media latex microspheres (1 μm). Both colloids used this work hydrophobic. The...
Rice husk modified with oxalic acid (MRH) was tested as a lowcost adsorbent for the removal of Neutral Red (NR) dye from aqueous solutions employing batch adsorption procedures. Such studies were conducted by varying various parameters such pH, dosage, salt concentration, contact time, concentration adsorbate and temperature. The kinetic experimental data analyzed using three equations, viz. pseudo-first-order equation, pseudo-second-order equation intra-particle diffusion model to examine...
Bacterial contamination of groundwater has always been an ecological problem worthy attention. In this study, Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium with different flagellar phenotypes mainly characterized during host-pathogen interaction were analyzed for their transport and deposition behavior in porous media. Column experiments a modified mobile-immobile model applicated on strains motility (wild-type) or without (ΔmotAB), flagella (ΔflgKL), methylated unmethylated flagellin (ΔfliB),...
