Abstract Aims The study aimed to determine the pathogenicity of Fusarium species currently prevalent in tomato fields having history chemical fungicide applications and bio-efficacy Bacillus subtilis NBRI-W9 as a potent biological control agent. Methods results was isolated from surface-sterilized infected plants collected fields. Pathogenicity 30 isolates determined by vitro vivo assays. Following Koch’s postulates, F. chlamydosporum (FOL7) identified virulent pathogen. FOL 7 B. (W9)...
Genus Adiantum L., Pteridaceae, is an important fern used in traditional systems of medicine. Different species are known as avenca Brazil; hansraj/hanmspadi India; maiden hair English. The present study aims to develop the quality control parameters four similar looking viz. A. capillus-veneris lunulatum Burm. f., peruvianum Klotzsch, and venustum D. Don. Standard methods for macro-microscopic evaluation, physicochemical HPTLC were authentication identification. salient distinctive...
A new fern species Christella kendujharensis (family Thelypteridaceae) from Odisha, India is described and illustrated. It shows morphological resemblance with clarkei (Bedd.) C.F. Reed. While C. has ascending rhizome, reduced lower pinnae irregular shaped pinnules, creeping non-reduced regular pinnules. Based on IUCN criteria (ver3.1), the assessed as Critically Endangered (CR) B2abC2a(i)D.
Abstract Christella kendujharensis S.K. Behera & Barik (family: Thelypteridaceae) is a critically endangered fern endemic to India. We developed its mass propagation protocol through in vitro spore culture liquid suspended medium for germination of gametophytes that produced sporophytes subsequently. The spores were monolete, reniform (mean length 36.49 ± 3.6 × breadth 25.67 4.2 μm) spheroidal with fimbriate and broad‐winged perispore. maximum was the Parker's Thompson's (P&TV) 0.1...
Niyamgiri and Kotgah Wildlife Sanctuary are part of the Eastern Ghats located at Odisha. The altitude range these mountain ranges between 400–1516 m shows diversity vegetation due to their undulating peaks, deep gorges, valleys numerous springs. Three species viz., Amblovenatum opulentum (Kaulf.) J. P. Roux, Pronephrium articulatum (Houlston & T. Moore) Holttum Sphaerostephanos hirtisorus (C. Chr.) (Family: Thelypteridaceae) collected from hill Kotgarh recorded for first time Odisha...
Wheat seedlings grown in petri dishes were acclimated to high light during their development and subsequently subjected osmotic stress by application of polyethylene glycol (PEG). The photochemical efficiency photosystem II (PS II) the was found be higher than that non-acclimated ones under senescence. damage photosynthetic apparatus seems mediated reactive oxygen species. level lutein (Lut) superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity suggest involvement protective mechanism. senescing leaves,...
