Monotonic tension, fatigue and creep experiments were conducted on an oxide/oxide ceramic matrix composite over the range of temperature 20–1200 °C. The role continuous fibre reinforcement, differential thermal expansion, stress redistribution interactions between fibres influence inherent processing defects are all considered when describing deformation ultimate mechanical failure these systems.
ABSTRACT Fourteen cultivars of sweet potatoes were analyzed qualitatively for their phenolic content at harvest and after storage. The the potato cultivars, Centennial, Jasper, Jewel, LO‐323, L3‐243, L3‐151, L4‐62, L4‐112, L4‐131, NC‐702, NC‐718, NC‐719, NC‐345, V 2 ‐237, was assayed. qualitative examination phenolics resulted in separation identification four isomers caffeolyquinic acid. A fifth compound, which exhibited acid characteristics, separated but could not be identified.
Recent animal studies have shown that carbon nanotubes (CNTs) may pose a significant health risk to those exposed in the workplace. To further understand this potential risk, effort must be taken measure occupational exposure CNTs. Results from an assessment of multi-walled (MWCNTs) conducted at industrial facility where polymer nanocomposites were manufactured by extrusion process are presented. Exposure MWCNTs was quantified thermal-optical analysis for elemental (EC) respirable dust...
