The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety Occlutech Paravalvular Leak Device (PLD) for percutaneous closure paravalvular leaks (PVL).Patients with PVL were enrolled at 21 sites from nine countries. Indications heart failure and/or haemolytic anaemia. Endpoint measures changes in PV regurgitation grade, NYHA class requirement haemolysis-related transfusion. One-hundred thirty-six patients mitral (67.6%) or aortic (32.4%) included (mean age 66.7 years, 58% male); 31% had...

Between December 2014 and March 2021, 144 patients with aortic (Ao) or mitral (Mi) paravalvular leaks (PVLs) were enrolled at 21 sites in 10 countries. Safety data available for 137 patients, who included the safety analysis fraction (SAF), 93 Mi PVLs 44 Ao PVLs. The full set (FAS) comprised 112 stratum (aortic/mitral leak) as well baseline (BL), 180-day later assessments (2 years). Prosthetic paravalvular leaks (PVLs) are associated with congestive heart failure and hemolysis. Surgical PVL closure carries high risks. Transcatheter implantation of occluding devices in is a lower risk but challenging procedure. Of the available devices, only two have been specifically approved Europe for transcatheter (tPVLc): Occlutech® Paravalvular Leak Device (PLD) Amplatzer™ ParaValvular Plug 3 (AVP 3). Here, we review various tools used tPVLc, based on three observational registries...

Abstract An uncommon complication of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is entrapment and/or fracture the catheter guidewire. This report describes “delayed” surgical removal retained guidewire from ascending aorta following a PCI. The potential complications and management options are further discussed. Widespread catheter-based interventions for structural heart disease have overtaken the treatment of paravalvular leaks (PVL). Multimodality imaging techniques play a crucial role in accurate diagnosis, procedure planning and performance. However, PVL closure is often technically challenging due to complex anatomy defects their relation surrounding anatomical structures. The application echocardiography fluoroscopy fusion (EFF) may simplify imaginative three-dimensional reconstruction...
