A typical feature of proteins from the rhodopsin family is sensitivity their absorption band maximum to protein amino acid composition. For this reason, studies these often require methodologies that determine spectral shift caused by substitutions. Generally, quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics models allow for calculation a substitution-induced with high accuracy, but application not always easy and requires special knowledge. In present study, we propose simple us estimate direct effect...

Copper(II) complexes are extremely labile with typical ligand exchange rate constants on the order of 10(6)-10(9) M(-1) s(-1). As a result, it is often difficult to identify actual formation mechanism these complexes. In this work, using UV-vis transient absorption when probing in broad time range (20 ps 8 μs) conjunction DFT/TDDFT calculations, we studied dynamics and underlying reaction mechanisms copper(II) CuCl4(2-) chloro from CuCl3(-) trichloro chloride ions. These two species,...

We proposed a new concept of increasing the plasticity chalcogenide glasses while maintaining high glass transition temperature. The main idea this lies in formation Ag–Ag metallophilic interactions when silver is introduced into composition. This suggestion was confirmed by experimental study based on Ag2Se–Sb2Se3–GeSe2 system. It observed that introduction 40 mole percent Ag2Se composition leads to increase its 3.5 times, whereas temperature such remains higher than 200 °C. most typical...

Quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) models are a widely used tool to obtain detailed insight into the properties and functioning of proteins. The outcome QM/MM studies heavily depends on quality applied model. Prediction right placement internal water molecules in protein cavities is one critical parts any model construction. Herein, we performed systematic study four hydration algorithms. We tested these algorithms for their ability predict X-ray-resolved set membrane...

The copper spots were precipitated on the SiO 2 substrates with Laser-induced Chemical Liquid phase Deposition (LCLD) method. focused beam of CW Ar + laser generated in multiwave regime was used for metal precipitation. deposition process initiated by a laser-assisted photothermal chemical reaction, which results reduction complexes to metal. To minimize negative influence bubbles formation phenomenon ``substrate-side'' geometry has been suggested. dependence precipitation power and time...

By using a subring cavity incorporated with saturable absorber, stable single-frequency selection is realized in linear-cavity fiber laser, which constructed broadband mirror and partial reflectance Bragg grating as the ends. At 1550.33 nm, laser has an optical signal-to-noise-ratio of >53.28 dB linewidth less than 1 MHz. The pumping efficiency 25% improved by recycling residual pump power to gain medium. stability wavelength have also been studied.
