A novel, one-pot sol-gel preparation scheme leading to reproducible incorporation of 20-40 nm sized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in SiO2 gels is developed based on situ reduction during gelation using chloroauric acid and ascorbic acid. Variation the conditions affects chemical composition, optical properties size distribution AuNPs incorporated silica gels. Different organic dopants, i.e., oleic acid, acetic or dodecanethiol, are applied modify final composite material control rate growth The...

The phase compositions of undoped and europium‐doped zirconia samples, obtained by precipitation thermal treatment from 350° to 1000°C, have been investigated powder X‐ray diffractometry, infrared spectroscopy, cathodoluminescence spectroscopy. low‐temperature stabilization tetragonal is mainly controlled the presence anion additives, such as ammonium chloride. influence crystallite size less important. Cathodoluminescence spectra show a structural similarity between amorphous zirconia.

A cost-effective solution for the synthesis of high-porosity TiO2 aerogels, which can be used as a mesoporous perovskite network charge-carrier material during manufacture solar cells, is described. The effects parameters (precursor (titanium (IV) isopropoxide (TIP) and tetrabutyl orthotitanate (TBOT)), additional solvent exchange (n-hexane (nH), cyclohexane (CH), diethyl ether (DE)), subcritical drying (800 mbar vacuum, 70 °C, 8 h), aging, calcination on aerogel's structure have been...

In this study, we report a novel synthesis of hydrophobic silica aerogel powder composites, functionalized and binary-doped with [Tb(phen)2](NO3)3 [Eu(phen)2](NO3)3 nanocrystals, employing two-step sol-gel methodology. The investigation delves into the structural elucidation, optical properties thermal conductivity these Tb(III)-Eu(III) composites. Our analysis includes diffuse reflectance spectra excitation luminescence spectra, highlighting quantum yields composites varying chemical...

Different sol-gel strategies based on functionalization of ZrO 2 :Eu microparticles with 1,10- phenanthroline (phen) and incorporation colloidal Eu(phen) (NO 3 ) into zirconia have been used to obtain hybrid composites controlled optical properties. The process leads materials quantum yields about 48% monitoring the 615 nm emission line at 350 excitation. Excitation/ luminescence spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy X-ray diffraction characterize composites.

Attenuated Total Reflectance Infrared (ATR-IR) spectroscopy and texture measurements based on nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms are combined to characterize silica aerogel granules with different degrees of hydrophobicity. The aerogels were prepared from tetraethoxysilane via a room temperature hydrolysis-gelation process, solvent exchange, hydrophobization, drying at subcritical conditions. dependencies between the properties, pore architectures, surface fractal dimensions, degree...
