Transport and specific heat measurements on hydrothermally grown single crystals reveal the formation of a heavy-mass Fermi liquid in LiV2O4 spinel, below coherence temperature T* = 20-30 K. A few observations which illustrate uniqueness this spinel are discussed connection with origin heavy mass, such as anomalous absence resistivity saturation above close proximity to spin glass phase where influence magnetic frustration is evident.

We report the formation of fcc and distorted hcp iron-helium compounds with x in FeHex up to 0.13 0.48, respectively, based on experiments at 5–54 GPa ∼1000–2820 K. Upon releasing pressure under room temperature, these were still observed by XRD SIMS measurements. Our first-principles calculations indicate that FeHex, helium atoms occupying tetrahedral trigonal-planar interstitial sites (instead octahedral sites), are dynamically stable throughout 0–50 GPa. These results support Earth's core...

The unique molecular conductors with p\ensuremath{\pi}-d mixing band structures (${\mathit{R}}_{1}$,${\mathit{R}}_{2\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$N,N'-dicyanoquinonediimine${)}_{2}$Cu [(${\mathit{R}}_{1}$,${\mathit{R}}_{2\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$DCNQI${)}_{2}$Cu] (${\mathit{R}}_{1}$,${\mathit{R}}_{2}$=${\mathrm{CH}}_{3}$,${\mathrm{CH}}_{3}$O,Cl,Br) were examined. General features of the phase diagram DCNQI-Cu system depicted. A region that is related to existence anomalously heavy-metal electrons...

Abstract— The effect of sleep deprivation on the in vivo and vitro tritiated amino acid incorporation into brain proteins was studied rat at three age levels. Sleep induced either by water tank or handling methods. Three experimental groups animals were used: control, deprived post sleeping rats. A significant decrease protein synthesis found cerebellum, telencephalon crude subcellular fractions brainstem adult rats selectively paradoxical sleep. However, no alteration observed , same...

Shubnikov--de Haas (SdH) oscillations have been examined for organic conductors $\ensuremath{\lambda}\ensuremath{-}(\mathrm{BETS}{)}_{2}{\mathrm{Fe}}_{x}{\mathrm{Ga}}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{Cl}}_{4}$ $(x=0,$ 0.45, 0.78, and 1.0). In spite of the variety magnetic phases, no significant difference is found in Fermi surface among them. All salts similar cylindrical surfaces, whose cross-sectional areas correspond to $\ensuremath{\sim}15%$ first Brillouin zone. For $x\ensuremath{\ne}0,$ two...

Recent theoretical calculations suggested that carbon and oxygen are important light elements in the Earth's inner outer core, respectively. We performed melting experiments on Fe-C-O system obtained ternary liquidus phase relations at ∼50, ∼136, ∼200 GPa based textural compositional characterisations of recovered samples.Considering previously reported Fe-C binary eutectic liquid composition, these results extrapolated to 330 GPa, which constrains C O concentrations core crystallises Fe...

While helium is a representative noble gas element characterized by its chemical inertness at ambient conditions, recent experiments and calculations argued that minor amount of incorporated into molten iron from silicate under high pressures. Here we examined the reaction between 8-42 GPa ~1000-2820 K found remarkable volume expansion Fe lattice, which attributed to formations fcc distorted hcp iron-helium compounds with x in FeHex up 0.13 0.42, respectively. Ferromagnetism was recently reported in La-doped alkaline-earth hexaborides ${A}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{La}}_{x}{\mathrm{B}}_{6}$ $(A=\mathrm{Ca},$ Sr, and Ba). We have performed reflectivity, Hall resistivity, magnetization measurements of ${A}_{1\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{La}}_{x}{\mathrm{B}}_{6}.$ The results indicate that can be regarded as a simple doped semimetal, with no signature an excitonic state suggested by several theories. It is also found the surface as-grown samples...

Room temperature synthesis of nano-carbons, i.e., whiskers, wires, onions and tubes, has been achieved by an electrochemical process under a liquid phase organic solution with metal catalyst. The method supplies athermal energy to the reactants contrary ordinary methods, this creates nano-carbons directly transferring electrons at electrode in condensed phase, does not increase during synthesis. various structures were obtained using C2H5OH high electric field. catalyst plays important role...
