The Russian Far East (RFE) is an important hotspot of biodiversity whose insect fauna remains understudied, particularly its Microlepidoptera. Here we explore the diversity leaf-mining micromoths family Gracillariidae, their distribution and host plant associations in RFE using a combination field observations sampling, DNA barcoding, morphological analysis literature review. We collected 91 gracillariid specimens (45 larvae, 9 pupae 37 adults) 12 localities across identified 34 species...
Sophronia salaganella Šumpich & Bidzilya, sp. n., is described based on specimens collected in the mountains of Altai Republic and Buryatia Russia. The new species most similar to S. illustrella (Hübner, 1796) orientalis Li Zheng, 1998 from which it can be reliably distinguished by characters genitalia. iciculata Omelko, 1999, syn. a junior synonym orientalis; marginella Toll, 1936, consanguinella Herrich-Schaffer, [1854]. alaicella Caradja, 1920 redescribed, adult male female genitalia...
Zelleria Stainton, 1849 from the East Asia is reviewed. asiatica Na, Bae & Ponomarenko, sp. nov. described Korea and Russia. Three species are redescribed provided with a key to species, illustrations of adult, male female genitalia, diagnoses, descriptions. Z. japonicella Moriuti, 1977 reported for first time.
The systematic status of Gelechia acanthopis Meyrick, 1932 is reviewed. general and functional morphology the male genitalia merits a new genus in Pexicopiini, Sitotrogoides gen. nov., for G. acanthopis. musculoskeletal apparatus described first time compared with allied genera. taxonomic position determined within tribe Pexicopiini. lack muscle m3 suggested as characteristic associating Sitotroga differing from all other genera type species Sitotrogoides, Meyrick redescribed. Our records...
Abstract The eggs of 9 species Noctuidae belonging in 4 subfamilies (Plusiinae, Eustrotinae, Acontiinae and Pantheinae) are examined, described, illustrated with SEM. diagnostic characters the examined given.
We report the results of a faunistic study Microlepidoptera performed in Southern Siberia using diverse sampling techniques allowing to cover various taxonomic groups. The provided list is comprised 64 species from 44 genera and 18 families, where all represent novel geographical records. Of them, only 62 inhabit Siberia, other two species, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) Carposina sasakii Matsumura are quarantine pests intercepted this region. Eighteen 3 families (Glyphipterigidae, Chimabachidae,...
New data on distribution of seven species the family Gracillariidae in Asian part Russia are provided.Six species, Phyllonorycter comparella, Ph. dubitella, medicaginella, pyrifoliella, ringoniella and Ph.sorbi, were recorded Siberia (Krasnoyarsk krai, Novosibirsk Omsk oblasts) for first time.Micrurapteryx caraganella is new Tuva Republic Russian Far East (Amur oblast).Phyllonorycter sorbi was collected host plants: Amelanchier sp., Sorbocotoneaster pozdnjakovii Prunus virginiana...
The main directions in insect biodiversity study are outlined on the base of analysis entomological publications. There three trends, each which is determined by method used for research. present paper concerns problem importance molecular and its place methodology taxonomy. Significance investigation structuring, as well necessity expert assessment discussed.
Three new species of Ypsolopha Latreille are described from East Asia: Y. helva Sohn et Wu, n. sp., sordida both China; pseudoparallela Ponomarenko, sp. Japan. Redescription contractella (Caradja), a poorly known species, is given with the first illustrations genitalia species. The combination, diana transferred Cerostoma, proposed. Exclusion Cerostoma xenicopis Meyrick suggested notes its lectotype. following synonyms proposed: hebeiensis Yang, 1977 syn. = leuconotella (Snellen, 1884);...

A new species, Xyrosaris insularis sp. n., was found in the Far East of Russia. Most specimens were obtained through rearing larvae that fed on Celastrus orbiculatus Thunb. (Celastraceae). The genetic distances between mtCOI sequences X. and congeneric species are range 1.2-13.9%. Minimal distance (1.2%) discovered lichneuta Meyrick from Shaanxi (China), which is lower than standard barcoding threshold 2% for delineation, but both taxa differ well genital morphology. description a...
Two new species of the genus Ypsolopha Latreille, 1796 are described from Far East Russia: melanofuscella sp. n. and straminella synomymies proposed: ulingensis Yang, 1977, a junior synonym costibasella (Caradja, 1939); Cerostoma falculella Erschoff, 1877, asperella Linnaeus, 1761. The Caradja, 1939, nigrofasciata 1977 nigrimaculata Byun et Park, 2001 recorded Russia for first time. male genitalia illustrated time, diagnostic genital characters given.
Tawaya gen. n. and its four new species (T. flaventia sp. n., T. rutila luteola armeniaca n.) are described from Borneo. A key to the is provided. The taxonomic position of a genus within subfamily Dichomeridinae (Gelechiidae) proposed based on combination molecular morphological analyses.
Distribution data of Tilia-feeding Phyllonorycter in the Russian Far East have been retrieved from a century-old Tilia herbarium stored Vladivostok.Overall, 280 typical mines Phyllonorycter, some with larvae and pupae, were found on 61 out 799 herbarized specimens spp.collected Khabarovskii krai Primorskii krai. For first time, presence has documented Amurskaya oblast Jewish Autonomous oblast.High densities leafminer recorded amurensis sampled between 1937 2005 suggesting population dynamics...

Seven new species of the genus Sabaha M. Omelko et N. Omelko, 2019 are described from state Sabah East Malaysia. As result study their external characters and morphology male female genitalia, diagnosis was specified supplemented. The taxonomic position in family Gelechiidae is discussed.
A new genus Esexalata gen. n. and two species (E. beljaevi sp. n., type species, E. natalyae n.) are described illustrated from East Malaysia. Males of the taxa possess unique metathoracic abdominal androconial structures wing-like on metascutum. The taxonomic position within family Gelechiidae is discussed.
