Background/Objectives: Many Tropical diseases such as Malaria, Chagas, Human African Trypanosomiasis, and Lymphatic filariasis coexist in endemic countries, affecting more than 1 billion people worldwide, are recognized major global vector-borne diseases. Tackle this disease lies a correct diagnosis, sensitive, specific, fast. This study aims to describe validate new highly sensitive specific multiple-analysis system that can effectively detect numerous etiological agents single test....

Yaws-like lesions are widely reported in wild African great apes, yet the causative agent has not been confirmed affected animals. We describe yaws-like a chimpanzee Guinea for which we demonstrate infection with Treponema pallidum subsp. pertenue. Assessing conservation implications of this pathogen requires further research.

Primate sanctuaries across Africa play a pivotal role in the rescue and rehabilitation of confiscated rescued wild primates, many whom have had extensive contact with humans prior to their arrival throughout process, heightening risk disease transmission. While tuberculosis is not naturally occurring free-living chimpanzees, it has been extensively observed captive primates that close proximity or other infected Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This case report delves into an outbreak...

In March 2017, a captive male juvenile (ca. 6 months old) olive baboon (Papio anubis) was brought to primate rescue center in Benin with multiple subcutaneous swellings of unknown aetiology. At the general inspection body, around 15 partially mobile masses variable sizes were found different locations across body. Following two surgical procedures, several cyst-like structures removed and placed either 10% formalin or absolute ethanol. The cysts had typical coenurus-like morphology. Genomic...
