This paper reports the theoretical and experimental investigations on strain sensing effect of a two dimensions (2D) photonic crystal (PhC) nanocavity resonator.By using finite element method (FEM) difference time domain (FDTD) simulations, sensitivity high quality factor PhC was calculated.Linear relationships between applied shift in resonant wavelength cavity were obtained.A single-defect silicon (Si) fabricated, measurements performed.Good agreement simulation results observed.
