Abstract. We use multifractal analysis to estimate the Rényi dimensions of river basins by two different partition methods. These methods differ in way that Euclidian plane support measure is covered, partitioning it using mutually exclusive boxes or gliding a box over plane. Images drainage basins, for Ebro and Tajo rivers, located Spain, were digitalized with resolution 0.5 km, giving image sizes 617×1059 pixels 515×1059, respectively. Box chosen as powers 2, ranging from 2×4 512×1024...

Abstract. Multi-criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) is concerned with identifying the values, uncertainties and other issues relevant in a given decision, its rationality, resulting optimal decision. These decisions are difficult because complexity of system or determining situation behaviour. This work will illustrate how MCDA applied practice to complex problem resolve such us soil erosion degradation. Desertification global recently it has been studied several forums as ONU that literally...

Abstract. With the advent of modern non-destructive tomography techniques, there have been many attempts to analyze 3-D pore space features mainly concentrating on soil structure. This analysis opens a challenging opportunity develop techniques for quantifying and describe properties, one them being fractal analysis. Undisturbed samples were collected from four horizons Brazilian images at 45 μm resolution. Four different threshold criteria used transform computed (CT) grey-scale imagery...

This paper deals with an operational technique to specify the utility function in decision-making problems such as road project selection under non-strict uncertainty. We propose here a multicriteria compromise programming (CP) proxy for utility. As special case, CP turns into net present value. A case study on five highway projects aimed at improving transport opportunities Madrid metropolitan area is developed. After defining suitable criteria or attributes model, these (discounted value...

Abstract To perform a Financial Analysis (FA) procedure on set of different firms the same business sector and region or stock market (maybe with definite management goal) from 7 to 20 balance ratios is chosen as representative situation, benchmark good kind selected calibrate attribute variables using Compromise Programming (CP) comparison procedures. For that reference CP ideal point obtained, it for each ratio reduced Ratio Quality Index (RQI) obtained containing relative quality...

A quantitative characterization of the three-dimensional soil pore architecture is important for understanding processes as it relates to control biological, chemical, and physical across scales. Recent advances in nondestructive imaging, such X-ray computed tomography (CT), provide an opportunity analyze space features from direct visualization structure. At same time that these techniques new opportunities, they also introduce processing steps on which final results depend. Fractal...

For election of a system disposal urban residues in small andine cities the Provincia de Salta, Argentina, some discrete MCDM methods were found adequate and used choosing between three alternatives {direct filling, sanitary filling+compost transport out city}, after local team defined elicited comprehensive set criteria. ELECTRE-I PROMETHEE performed, requiring elicitation weights adaptations. A.H.P. was locally performed. The second alternative preferred with methods.

In order to mitigate problem it necessary take into account not only pedologic criteria but economical, environmental, cultural and sociological criteria. Six sub zones have been established following previous studies. Eight six alternatives introduced model.
