Introduction The global healthcare burden of COVID-19 pandemic has been unprecedented with a high mortality. Metabolomics, powerful technique, increasingly utilized to study the host response infections and understand progression multi-system disorders such as COVID-19. Analysis metabolites in SARS-CoV-2 infection can provide snapshot endogenous metabolic landscape its role shaping interaction SARS-CoV-2. Disease severity consequently clinical outcomes may be associated imbalance related...

There is a lack of robust epidemiological information on portal vein thrombosis (PVT) in Qatar. This study aimed to describe the risk factors, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes PVT patients with without liver cirrhosis admitted Hamad General Hospital. This retrospective observational was conducted at Hospital, Doha, Consecutive between January 1, 2015 December 31, 2019 were included this study. We 363 cases representing 0.05% all inpatients our hospital during period....
We reported an anaphylactic reaction following ingestion of rivaroxaban in a 48-years-old male, who was recently discharged from the hospital as case deep vein thrombosis. At home, patient developed diffuse itchy skin rash, shortness breath, and vomiting 30 minutes after ingestion. Emergency Medical Service found that had severe dyspnea, low blood pressure, decreased oxygen saturation. The given oxygen, intramuscular epinephrine, intravenous hydrocortisone, diphenhydramine, salbutamol...

Iatrogenic splenic infarction is a rare clinical entity that can result from various abdominal surgical and invasive procedures. We report case of iatrogenic in 29-year-old female who presented with hemoptysis was found to have pulmonary sequestration. During the embolization anomalous artery supplying sequestration, she developed severe pain infarction, caused by part coil dislodged during procedure. The patient showed good response conservative management discharged condition. Keywords:...
BACKGROUND: Reports on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) associated with acute pancreatitis continue to emerge. In this series, we present three cases of COVID-19 no obvious etiology. CASE REPORTS: The first case was a 47-year-old man who presented severe abdominal periumbilical pain, preceded by fever and dry cough. Based positive polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test elevated serum amylase lipase >3 times the upper normal limit, diagnosis were established. next 57-year-old confirmed...
Background: Statins are well tolerated but associated with various statin-associated symptoms, including rhabdomyolysis. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency rhabdomyolysis in patients treated statins and describe their clinical features outcomes our local setting. Patients Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional conducted at Hamad General Hospital included all who received for period between January 1, 2017, November 31, 2017. Results: Out 1000 cases involved...

Metabolomics has been increasingly utilized in studying host response to infections and under-standing the progression of multi-system disorders such as COVID-19. The analysis metabo-lites SARS-CoV-2 infection provides a snapshot endogenous metabo-lism its role shaping interaction with SARS-CoV-2. current study investigated metabolic signatures mortality severity COVID-19 patients using targeted metabo-lomics approach. Blood plasma concentrations were quantified through LC-MS MxP Quant 500...
We reported a case of cyclophosphamide (CYP)-induced posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) in 26-year-old previously healthy male patient who was presented to the emergency department with history fever, shortness breath, and hemoptysis. After extensive investigations, including bronchoscopy autoimmune screening, he diagnosed renal-pulmonary syndrome. The diagnosis CYP-related PRES based on development neurological clinical picture supported by magnetic resonance imaging...
We report a fatal case of typhoid acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in 32-year-old man who was hospitalized with fever, cough, and chills lasting 12 days. While waiting for the results cultures, his condition rapidly deteriorated within 2 days, he developed ARDS. The patient transferred to medical intensive care unit. Subsequently, blood, urine, stool cultures returned positive Salmonella Typhi. sensitivities showed that organism resistant nalidixic acid, ampicillin, ciprofloxacin...
