Essential oil from aerial parts of Artemisia herba-alba Morocco was hydrodistilled and its chemical composition investigated by capillary GC GC/MS.The major components were 1,8-cineole (35.6%) camphor (24.1%).Artemisia essential AHAO tested as corrosion inhibitor stainless steel (SS) in 1M H 3 PO 4 using potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements (EIS) scanning electronically microscopy (SEM) studies. The results obtained showed that the reduces...
In this study, 1,5-diallyl-1H-pyrazolo [3,4-d] pyrimidin-4 (5H)-one (PPD) was evaluated as an anticorrosion agent for mild steel (MS) in 1 M HCl. The analysis performed by weight loss (WL), potentiodynamic polarization measurement, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Tafel showed that PPD is a mixed-type inhibitor reaches 94% of the protective efficiency at 10-3 M. EIS results indicated resistance to charge transfer increases with increasing concentration corrosion MS...
In this article, an efficient and innovative coupled system that involves hydrogen generation from water hydrogenation of a biomass derived compound is shown for the first time. We have demonstrated it possible to use produced photoelectrochemical splitting widely available biomass-derived (levulinic acid) into versatile fuel component and/or precursor (γ-valerolactone). This compound, conversely hydrogen, can be easily stored handled. The photoelectrocatalyst selected was TiO2 nanostructure...
A large set of unsupported ceria catalysts has been synthesized, physicochemical and electrochemically characterized, tested in a representative catalytic reaction (total oxidation volatile organic compound-VOC, propane). Interestingly, spite the diverse synthesis procedures employed, clear relationship between electrochemical properties active surface layer (related with amount oxygen vacancies) activity total VOCs observed. Then, resistance to charge transfer outer (depth ca. 1.5 nm),...
ZnO/ZnS heterostructures anodized under stirring conditions and in glycerol/water electrolyte succeeded as being a photococatalyst for photoelectrochemical water splitting.
In this work, a resistant and toxic pesticide called diazinon was degraded through the photoelectrocatalysis (PEC) technique using tungsten oxide (WO3) nanostructures, applying an external bias of 1VAg/AgCl simulated solar illumination. For this, WO3 nanostructures have been synthesized electrochemical anodization in 0.05 M hydrogen peroxide 1.5 different acidic electrolytes: H2SO4, CH4O3S or HNO3. Morphology, composition crystallinity samples were evaluated Field Emission Scanning Electron...
MoVO, MoVTeO and MoVTeNbO mixed oxides, prepared hydrothermally heat-treated in N2 at 400, 500 or 600 °C, are active selective catalysts the oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of ethane, although their catalytic behaviour strongly depends on composition activation temperature material. Thus, selectivity to ethylene over samples 400 decreases according following trend: MoVTeNb-600 > MoV-400 MoVTe-600 MoVTe-400 MoVTeNb-400 >> MoV-600 (with °C presenting an intermediate performance). This...
The passive behavior of titanium and its susceptibility to undergo localized attack in different LiBr solutions at 25°C have been investigated using electrochemical techniques: potentiodynamic polarization curves, potentiostatic passivation tests, EIS measurements Mott-Schottky analysis. In low moderately concentrated solutions, the breakdown potential Eb decreased with increasing bromide concentrations, while highly increased concentration. most solution (11.42M) Ti did not passivity even 9...
Non-pure primary Vanadyl petroporphyrins extracted from oil, i.e., PVP(Oil), have been impregnated on SBA-15 or SiO2. For comparison, synthetic vanadyl octaethylporphine, VP(S), was also the same siliceous materials. The characterization result of unsupported porphyrins and catalysts, by FTIR DR-UV-vis, confirm successful incorporation corresponding porphyrins. Electrochemical photoelectrochemical properties these catalysts evaluated through Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Mott-Schottky (MS)...
