The Great Nebula in Carina provides an exceptional view into the violent massive star formation and feedback that typifies giant HII regions starburst galaxies. We have mapped star-forming complex X-rays, using archival Chandra data a mosaic of 20 new 60ks pointings X-ray Observatory's Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer, as testbed for understanding recent ongoing to probe Carina's bright diffuse emission. This study has yielded catalog properties >14,000 point sources; >9800 them...
Abstract Measuring the distance of quasar outflows from central source ( R ) is essential for determining their importance active galactic nucleus feedback. There are two methods to measure : (1) a direct determination using spatially resolved integral field spectroscopy (IFS) outflow in emission and (2) an indirect method that uses absorption troughs ionic excited states. The column density ratio between resonance states yields number density. Combined with knowledge outflow’s ionization...
Abstract Quasar feedback is routinely invoked as an indispensable ingredient in galaxy formation models. Galactic outflows are a crucial agent of quasar that frequently manifest themselves absorption and emission lines. Measuring the size energetics based on lines remains challenge, integral field spectroscopy (IFS) mapping complementary. We present Very Large Telescope (VLT)/SINFONI IFS 3C 191 at z ∼ 2, which outflow has been analyzed line spectroscopy. Three components found morphology...
We report here results from a Chandra ACIS observation of the stellar populations in and around M17 H II region. The field reveals 886 sources with observed X-ray luminosities (uncorrected for absorption) between ~ 29.3 ergs s-1 < log LX 32.8 s-1, 771 which have counterparts infrared images. In addition to comprehensive tables source properties, several are presented:
We present the first high spatial resolution X-ray study of NGC 2244, 2 Myr old stellar cluster in Rosette Nebula, using Chandra. Over 900 sources are detected; 77% have optical or FLAMINGOS NIR counterparts and mostly previously uncataloged young members. The X-ray-selected population is estimated to be nearly complete between 0.5 3 M☉. A number further results emerge from our analysis: (1) LF associated K-band indicate a normal Salpeter IMF for 2244. This inconsistent with top-heavy...
Cosmic rays (CRs) in starburst galaxies produce high energy gamma-rays by colliding with the dense interstellar medium (ISM). Arp 220 is nearest ultra luminous infrared galaxy (ULIRG) that has star-formation at extreme levels, so it long been predicted to emit high-energy gamma-rays. However, no evidence of gamma-ray emission was found despite intense efforts search. Here we report discovery above 200 MeV from a confidence level $\sim 6.3 \sigma $ using 7.5 years \textsl {Fermi} Large Area...
The IC 1396N cometary globule (CG) within the large nearby H II region 1396 has been observed with ACIS detector on board Chandra X-Ray Observatory. We detect 117 X-ray sources, of which ~50-60 are likely members young open cluster Trumpler 37 dispersed throughout region, and 25 associated stars formed globule. Infrared photometry (2MASS Spitzer) shows that population is very young: 3 older Class III stars, 16 classical T Tauri 6 protostars including a 0/I system. infer total ~30 in globule,...
This paper is the third in a series which we present deep Chandra ACIS-S imaging spectroscopy of Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 4151, devoted to study its complex circum-nuclear X-ray emission. Emission features soft spectrum bright extended emission (L[0.3-2keV]~10^40 erg/s) at r>130 pc (2") are consistent with brighter OVII, OVIII, and NeIX lines seen HETGS XMM-Newton RGS spectra below 2 keV. We construct line images these find good morphological correlations narrow region clouds mapped [OIII]5007A....
The distribution of young stars found in the Chandra Carina Complex Project (CCCP) is examined for clustering structure. X-ray surveys are advantageous identifying stellar populations compared to optical and infrared suffering less contamination from nebular emission Galactic field stars. analysis based on smoothed maps a spatially complete subsample about 3000 brighter sources classified as members, 10,000 full CCCP sample. principal known clusters recovered, some additional smaller groups...
We report the discovery of kpc-scale diffuse emission in both hard continuum (3-6 keV) and Fe K alpha line Compton Thick (CT) Seyfert galaxy ESO428-G014. This extended component contains at least ~24% observed 3-8 keV emission, follows direction optical (ionization cone) radio jet. The has ~0.5% intrinsic 2-10 luminosity within bi-cones. A uniform scattering medium density 1 cm-3 would produce this a 1kpc path length Alternatively, higher column molecular clouds disk ESO428-G014 may be...
Abstract The Gaia Data Release 3 (DR3) mission has identified and provided about 440,000 binary systems with orbital solutions, offering a valuable resource for searching binaries including compact component. By combining the DR3 data radial velocities from LAMOST spectroscopic survey, we identify three wide possibly containing object. For two of these sources main-sequence companion, no obvious excess is observed in blue/red band XP spectra, medium-resolution spectra exhibit clear...
ABSTRACT Using the highest-resolution X-ray observation of Trumpler 15 star cluster taken by Chandra Observatory , we estimate total size its stellar population comparing luminosity function (XLF) detected sources to a calibrator and identify for first time significant fraction (∼14%) individual members. The near-IR (taken HAWK-I instrument on Very Large Telescope) was found detect most our selected sample members, with K -excess disk frequency 3.8% ± 0.7%. data, XLF, published spectral...
We have obtained a deep, subarcsecond resolution X-ray image of the nuclear region luminous galaxy merger NGC 6240 with Chandra, which resolves emission from pair active nuclei and diffuse hot gas in great detail. detect extended hard kT ∼ 6 keV (∼70 MK) over spatial scale 5 kpc, indicating presence fast shocks velocity ∼2200 km s−1. For first time, we obtain distribution this highly ionized emitting Fe xxv, shows remarkable correspondence to large-scale morphology H2(1–0) S(1) line Hα...
The wear resistance and transparency properties of superhydrophobicity are most important issue essential for the application superhydrophobic materials in industry. In this paper, we successfully prepared good PU/SiO 2 (polyurethane/silica) composite coating with double-step sol–gel route. PU SiO occurs crosslinking reaction forming coating. surface is characterised by environmental scanning electron microscope other testing methods, results show that has excellent Sa value was 332.5 nm. ABSTRACT We propose a compact binary model for the fast radio burst (FRB) repeaters, where system consists of magnetic white dwarf (WD) and neutron star (NS) with strong bipolar fields. When WD fills its Roche lobe, mass transfer will occur from to NS through inner Lagrange point. The accreted magnetized materials may trigger reconnection when they approach surface, therefore electrons can be accelerated an ultra-relativistic speed. In this scenario, curvature radiation moving along field...

We utilize data from deep Chandra observations archival millimeter surveys to study interconnection between these two phases relation activities M51 on kiloparsec scales. A sharp radial decrease is present gas surface brightness profile within inner 2 kpc of M51. ratio total infrared luminosity ( L IR...
