Passive vibration isolation is a key factor in achieving precise results milling processes and extending the service life of tools. An innovative approach involves using damping elements made from NiTi shape memory alloys. This based on alloys ability to convert large amounts mechanical energy into thermal through pseudo-elastic effect, with pronounced transformation hysteresis material providing its potential. While previous experimental studies have offered valuable insights, analytical...

Friction losses are an important parameter for evaluating the operational behaviour of high-speed rolling bearings. Specifically, in machine tool applications, bearings subjected to high radial loads and speeds, which lead increased forces contact and, as a result, bearing friction. In this application, hybrid spindle bearings, typically made ceramic balls steel raceways, show better frictional compared full steel-made Therefore, precise knowledge friction characteristics can improve models...

Ball screws (BS) exhibit strongly varying internal load distributions depending on...

Abstract In modern machine tools, the thermo-elastic positioning error has a large share on overall tool error. A multitude of different approaches can be found in literature to correct this order improve accuracy tool. However, an FE-based approach model 5 axis tools is still active field research. Therefore, goal work improvement by modelling using FE model. The uses real time measurement data R-Test, as well temperature measurements structure.
