The neuroanatomic or neuropathologic basis of Gilles de la Tourette9s syndrome (GTS) remains unknown. Recent studies have suggested abnormalities cerebral asymmetry and basal ganglia volumes. We studied 17 patients with GTS eight normal controls using volumetric MRI techniques for measuring the caudate nucleus, amygdala, corpus callosum. One subject was subsequently excluded because he left handed. No absolute differences in nucleus volumes between patient control groups were evident. There...
Some time ago we1published an article on the effects of some drugs vestibular response to rotation. In our work very large doses were used, and number was limited. Our conclusions that nitrite, cocaine pilocarpine reduced reaction apparatus because general depression not from any specific action. The epinephrine, nicotine atropine produced no marked changes in reaction. specificity various discovered by investigators quoted previous communication has encouraged us do further work....
Atypical Parkinsonian syndromes are a subset of progressive neurodegenerative disorders that present with signs Parkinson's disease. However, due to multisystem degeneration, the atypical have additional symptoms often referred as Parkinson-plus syndromes. The most well-studied subsets include supranuclear palsy (PSP), multiple system atrophy (MSA), corticobasal degeneration (CBD), and Lewy body dementia. Specifically, is tauopathy disorder presents parkinsonism along postural instability,...
Neurodegenerative disorders are classified as a group of diseases with progressive loss neurons secondary to aggregation misfolded proteins. A few these neurodegenerative have been associated degeneration the transverse pontocerebellar tracts and median pontine raphe nuclei. This specific neuron results in radiologic hot cross bun sign (HCBS) on MRI T2 imaging helps narrow down differential diagnosis. While multiple system atrophy has higher prevalence HCBS than other diseases, also...
