Fixed cell-based assays (CBAs) to detect acetylcholine receptor and muscle-specific tyrosine kinase antibodies (anti-AChR/MuSK) are now available, but evaluations of their diagnostic performance in clinical practice lacking. We examined the positive predictive value (PPV) anti-AChR/MuSK fixed CBA for myasthenia gravis (MG), following implementation this assay as first-line testing at our centre. identified all patients centre with results between November 2021 July 2024. ABSTRACT In this study, we examined the yield of routine cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis to assess for an autoimmune etiology in patients with chronic seizures unknown cause. Forty-seven were included. Six 47 (13%) had inflammation on CSF analysis, none whom diagnosed related encephalitis (AE). Meanwhile, 2/47 (4%) AE, neither analysis. Routine cause is low yield, and has suboptimal specificity sensitivity AE.
To identify indicators of false pleocytosis in adults with traumatic lumbar puncture (LP), and determine specificities sensitivities commonly used CSF correction factors.
