Vitamin D is a fat-soluble steroid that influences cardiovascular health by affecting lipid metabolism. Since dyslipidemia key risk factor for disease (CVD), our study aimed to explore the relationship between vitamin levels and parameters, considering effects of age gender.
This study was conducted to assess the effects of long-term ingestion moderate excesses vitamin A on trabecular bone remodeling in fifth lumbar vertebral body aged rats. Eighteen-month-old rats were fed diets with content equal daily requirement (DR), 2-fold, and 5-fold DR along calcium either or 0.3-fold DR, for 14 months each. As expected, serum concentrations 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D higher reduced than normal intake groups (65.1 ± 2.4 SEM vs 47.8 2.1 pg/ml, P < 0.001). Calcium balance...
