Organoclay, such as organo-modified montmorillonite (MMT), is one of the potential filler candidates in preparation epoxy nanocomposite adhesives for automotive and civil engineering industries. However, there no systematic research on effect organoclay reinforcement its adhesion fatigue behaviors shear loading. Here, single-lap joints (SLJs) stainless steel substrates bonded with epoxy/MMT adhesives, consisting diglycidyl ether bisphenol A poly(oxypropylene) diamine various weight contents...

Abstract A network structure and the mechanical properties, such as stretching adhesive properties of low cross-linking density cured epoxy resin (CER-L), were investigated by swelling test, tensile temperature dependence dynamic viscoelastic properties. CER-Ls synthesized with three different primary monoamines diepoxy. Even though was low, they showed modulus, strength comparable those high-cross linking CER.

Single-lap joint (SLJ) specimens were prepared using two stainless steel substrates as adherends and polyurethanes (PU) an adhesive then employed for adhesion testing. To investigate the internal structure of PU during shear deformation process, in situ synchrotron radiation microbeam small-angle wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS WAXS) measurements carried out. A lab-made portable tensile tester was developed SAXS/WAXS measurement lap deformation. The bulk also investigated simple uniaxial...

Although carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRPs) have excellent mechanical properties and are considered sustainable, an improved understanding of the fatigue behavior these materials is crucial for expanding their application scope. The aim this study to clarify mechanism CFRPs using in situ offline mapping by small-angle/wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS) measurements. resulting findings provide information about interface between carbon fibers (CFs) epoxy matrix, as well changes...

Single carbon fiber (CF)-embedded thermoset epoxy resin (EP) and thermoplastic polycarbonate (PC) specimens were prepared to clarify the interfacial interaction between CF a matrix polymer deformation behavior of polymer. Stress–strain curves EP PC samples including excluding CFs showed yields at approximately 70 MPa. In situ polarized high-speed camera images revealed effect on stress propagation. Moreover, retardation fiber/polymer interface was large that higher than EP. Microbeam...
