Abstract An analytical solution of the transient temperature response in a semi‐infinite medium with line source finite length has been derived, which is more appropriate model for boreholes geothermal heat exchangers, especially their long‐duration operation. The steady‐state distribution also obtained as limit this solution. erratic approach to problem that appears some handbooks and textbooks indicated. Two representative borehole wall temperatures, middle point integral mean temperature,...
The heat transfer model of vertical ground exchangers for ground-source pump systems is discussed. An explicit solution a finite line-source has been derived to better describe temperature response boreholes long time steps, which can be easily incorporated into computer programs thermal analysis exchangers. A quasi-three-dimensional also presented inside the borehole, accounting interference between U-tube legs. On this basis concise expression obtained resistance borehole. These models...
Abstract In the past decades (1982–2012), rapid increase in nitrogen and phosphorus inputs has led to a two‐fold concentrations East China Sea. To investigate how increasing nutrients Sea have been affecting marine environment growth of plankton, this paper establishes modeling framework using coupled ocean hydrodynamics‐ecological model. Observational sea surface temperature, salinity, nutrients, chlorophyll‐a are compared with predictions validate model performance. The study reveals that...
Storm surges are one of the most severe marine hazards, causing fatalities and devastating infrastructure. It is important to conduct research on storm surge hazards achieve disaster avoidance protection local populations. In this study, Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) was used develop a framework simulate inundation (using wet/dry method) land in Ningbo, China during an extreme typhoon surge. The baseline simulation with realistic intensity track well validated by meteorological ocean...
Studies on the retrieval of ocean surface current by Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) mainly concentrate coastal regions with land coverage, allowing for continuous to estimate non-geophysical Doppler shifts. As a strong western boundary in Western Pacific, Kuroshio flows through mostly islands or open sea, and lacks coverage range bias correction. We propose shift correction algorithm suitable observation. Three solutions matching different were adopted direction, scalloping was removed using...
The energy and exergy efficiencies of a Hybrid Ground-Coupled Heat Pump (HGCHP) system with Domestic Hot Water (DHW) supply are analysed based on experimental study. Comparisons between the HGCHP conventional DHW systems, i.e., Air Source (ASHP), Electric Heater (ElcH) Gas-Fired Boiler (GasB), made respect to efficiencies. results show that in highest efficiency, ranging from 6.7 2.1. In addition, possesses efficiency among four kinds heating systems.
Utilizing the ground as a heat source/sink, ground-coupled pump (GCHP) systems have been gaining increasing popularity for space conditioning in residential and commercial buildings. The geothermal exchanger (GHE) is devised extraction or injection of thermal energy from/into ground. This paper summarizes authors’ studies on transfer groundcoupled systems. Taking fluid axial convective “shortcircuiting” among U-tube legs into account, quasi-3-D model has solved inside boreholes. transient...
