COVID-19 has recently been associated with the development of Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM). This scoping review aims to summarize existing evidence regarding TCM in and offer future direction for study. Following PRISMA Extension Scoping Reviews, MEDLINE EMBASE were searched all peer-reviewed articles relevant keywords including “Takotsubo”, “Stress-induced cardiomyopathy” “COVID-19” from their inception September 25, 2021. A total 40 52 cases included. Patients showed only slight female...

Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) are novel nonsteroidal agents abused for performance enhancement such as anabolic steroids. We report a case of 27-year-old man who used 3 different SARMs and presented with progressive weakness. Initial laboratory testing showed kidney liver injury creatinine 4.8 mg/dL total bilirubin 43.3 mg/dL. An extensive workup was negative other causes, the results biopsies were consistent bile cast nephropathy because SARM-associated drug-induced injury....

Objective In clinical practice, patients with eosinophilic myocarditis (EM) may forgo the gold standard diagnostic procedure, endomyocardial biopsy (EMB), although it is highly recommended in guidelines. This systematic review aims to summarise current approaches diagnosing and treating EM a particular emphasis on utilisation value of alternative methods. Methods Following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses statement, we searched MEDLINE EMBASE all peer-reviewed...

Introduction Recent studies suggested that the energy delivered by mechanical ventilator to lungs termed power can induce and increase risks of induced lung injury. The components include variables ventilator: tidal volume, respiratory rate, inspiratory flow, airway pressure. Adaptive Ventilator Mode-2 (AVM-2) is a pressure-controlled mode with an optimal targeting scheme based on equation adjusts rate volume achieve target minute ventilation. This conceptually should reduce patients thus...

Hamartoma of mature cardiac myocytes (HMCM) is a rare, benign tumor. We report case 19-year-old female with an atypical presentation, including significant weight loss and abnormal electrocardiogram. A transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) revealed mass causing left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction, confirmed by magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging showing 5 x 3 cm contiguous the right free wall exhibiting heterogeneous, diffuse late gadolinium enhancement. The patient subsequently...

Desmoplastic small round cell tumors (DSRCT) are very rare and aggressive diseases typically present with abdominal or retroperitoneal masses. We a case of young female who presented ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction cardiac tamponade was found to have DSRCT. The patient coded at the emergency department. Left heart catheterization showed normal coronary arteries, pericardiocentesis removed 1,260 mL bloody pericardial effusions. stabilized, positron emission tomography scan revealed...
