Patients with trisomy 21 [Down syndrome (DS)] progressively develop amyloid β-protein (Aβ) deposits and then other features of Alzheimer's disease (AD), apparently due to increased gene dosage thus expression the β-amyloid precursor protein. Because neuropathological phenotype in older DS subjects closely resembles that AD, examination brains increasing age provides a unique model progression AD. Here, we characterized deposition several Aβ peptides apolipoprotein E formalin-fixed brain...

Butenafine hydrochloride, N-4-tert-butylbenzyl-N-methyl-1-naphthalenemethylamine hydrochloride (butenafine), is a novel antifungal agent of the class benzylamine derivatives. was investigated for its activity against guinea pig dermatophytosis caused by Trichophyton mentagrophytes or Microsporum canis in comparison with those naftifine, tolnaftate, clotrimazole, and bifonazole. Topical butenafine showed excellent efficacy when it applied once daily, effect superior to all four reference...

Murine peritoneal macrophages were preincubated with amphotericin B (AMPH) and then stimulated bacterial lipopolysaccharide or streptococcal preparation (OK432). These produced a large amount of tumor necrosis factor. When administered to mice, the priming activity for factor production in vivo was also observed.

The stability of a two-dimensional flow in symmetric channel with suddenly expanded part is investigated numerically and analyzed by using the method nonlinear theory. From results numerical simulation, it shown that steady, unique at very low Reynolds numbers, while loses its critical number resulting an appearance asymmetric flow. transition from steady to one found occur due symmetry breaking pitchfork bifurcation when aspect ratio, ratio length width, large. AbstractSenile plaques and cerebrovascular amyloidosis are major histopathological lesions in the brains of aged dogs. Different types amyloid beta protein (Aβ) positive known: diffuse ones neuritic plaques. Diffuse may contain membrane-bound Aβ and/or small amounts fibrils. Neuritic cored with clusters fibrils degenerating neurites. In human plaques, a pathogenetic role for mcroglia cells has been described. The aim this investigation was to study microglia relationship canine investigate...

The mechanism of action a new benzylamine antimycotic, butenafine hydrochloride, was studied in Candida albicans by using the thiocarbamate antimycotic tolnaftate as reference drug. Butenafine completely inhibited growth test strain C. at 25 micrograms/ml and cidal 50 micrograms/ml. Tolnaftate did not show any growth-inhibitory activity up to 100 Both squalene epoxidation albicans, with 50% inhibitory concentrations being 0.57 0.17 microgram/ml, respectively.
