Cesium was recovered from plant samples obtained Fukushima prefecture. The isotopic ratios of 134Cs/137Cs and 135Cs/137Cs were analyzed by thermal ionization mass spectrometry with a single filament method using TaO activator. Samples containing 5 Bq 137Cs typical analytical errors approximately 0.5% for 0.1% 135Cs/137Cs. Measurements both showed profiles that characteristic the measurements among other environmental reported in literature. results applicable source analysis radioactive Cs

Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have recently attracted considerable attention as promising drug carriers. In vivo imaging of AuNPs is required to investigate their pharmacokinetics. However, a direct and highly sensitive method has not yet been established. Therefore, we proposed the activation that radioactivates non-invasively visualizes them using emitted gamma rays. When stable isotope gold, 197Au, irradiated with low-energy neutrons, it changes radioactive 198Au, which predominantly emits...

Cesium was recovered from soil samples obtained in Fukushima prefecture. Isotopic analysis of Cs performed by γ-spectrometry to determine the activity ratio 134Cs/137Cs and thermal ionization mass spectrometry used isotopic ratios 133Cs/137Cs 135Cs/137Cs. The analytical results showed that both 135Cs/137Cs were within expected values for Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant estimated using ORIGEN-II code, suggesting most radioactive sample originated Plant. concentration 137Cs contribution global...

Fission product kinetic energies were measured by the double-energy method for thermal-neutron fission of 235,233U and proton-induced 238U at 15.8-MeV excitation. From obtained energy-mass correlation data, kinetic-energy distribution was constructed from each mass bin to evaluate first moment energy a given fragment mass. The resulting then converted effective distance between charge centers scission. distances deduced concluded be classified into two constant values, one asymmetric other...
