Optical data are reported on a spectral weight transfer over broad frequency range of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta, when this material became superconducting. Using spectroscopic ellipsometry, we observed the removal small amount in band from 10(4) cm(-1) to at least 2 x cm(-1), due onset superconductivity. We blue shift ab-plane plasma superconducting, indicating that was transferred infrared range. Our observations agreement with models which superconductivity is accompanied by an increased charge...

In an increasingly urbanized world, the concepts of ecosystem services and nature-based solutions can help tackle grand challenges. However, ambiguity in their definitions relationship between two complicates comprehensive research efforts as well effective application policy planning urban systems. This paper presents a framework to clarify explicitly relate concepts, enhancing applicability management Within framework, addressing challenges serves starting point for development...

We present the ab-plane optical conductivity of four single crystals ${\mathrm{Bi}}_{2}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{2}{\mathrm{CaCu}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{8+\ensuremath{\delta}}\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}(\mathrm{Bi}2212)$ with different carrier doping levels from strongly underdoped to overdoped range ${T}_{c}=66$, 88, 77, and $67\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$, respectively. focus on redistribution low frequency spectral weight (SW) in superconducting normal states. The temperature dependence...

We present a scanning tunneling spectroscopy study on quasiparticle states in vortex cores Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta). The energy of the observed core shows an approximately linear scaling with superconducting gap region just outside core. This clearly distinguishes them from conventional localized and is signature mechanism responsible for their discrete appearance high-temperature superconductors. also suggests common nature Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7-delta). Finally,...

The persistence of the first-order transition line in phase diagram mesoscopic Bi$_{2}$Sr$_{2}$CaCu$_{2}$O$_{8}$ vortex matter is detected down to a system size less than hundred vortices. Precise and highly-sensitive bulk currents AC magnetization techniques proved be mandatory order obtain this information. location lines are not altered by decreasing sample 20 $\mu$m. Nevertheless, onset irreversible affected increasing surface-to-volume ratio producing noticeable enlargement region above...

We have successfully obtained high-quality strongly underdoped ${\mathrm{Bi}}_{2}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{2}{\mathrm{CaCu}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{8+x}$ (Bi-2212) single crystals by growth in reduced oxygen partial pressure. Doping levels could subsequently be varied from through optimally doped to overdoped a straightforward post-annealing treatment. characterized the low-field magnetic screening experiments as well reversible magnetization fields several tesla and report values of penetration depth...

Abstract In response to multiple societal challenges faced in cities, nature-based solutions (NbS) are gaining prominence as means support sustainable and resilient urban planning. However, NbS being implemented cities around the globe without comprehensive evidence on their effectiveness addressing challenges. We map the field-temperature (H-T) diagram of pseudogap state in Bi 2 Sr CaCu O 8+y crystals a wide range hole doping. By probing quasiparticle density-of-states with c-axis interlayer resistivity measurements fields up to 60 T we make systematic evaluation closing field H pg that restores superconductor its ungapped state. In contrast characteristic superconducting state, (T) at low temperatures is temperature independent and scales T* by simple Zeeman energy scale, indicating predominant...
