Cooling of thermosensitive patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) can improve clinical symptoms. In order to study the effectiveness an advanced lightweight cooling-garment technology based on aquatic evaporation, a single-blinded balanced crossover was performed 20 Expanded Disability Status Scale score ≤6.5. The results using tight-cuff prototype for peripheral cooling suggest improvement timed-walking test, leg-strength, fine-motor skills and subjective benefits. Preliminary data heart...
We present a decomposition of the temporal growth rate ${\it\omega}_{i}$ which characterises evolution wave-like disturbances in linear stability theory for compressible flows. The is based on disturbance energy balance by Chu ( Acta Mech. , vol. 1 (3), 1965, pp. 215–234) and provides terms production, dissipation flux as components . inclusion makes our formulation applicable to unconfined flows with permeable or vibrating boundaries. sheds light fundamental mechanisms determining decay...
We present an experimental setup to investigate the structure-structure coupling of a stationary and rotating disk coupled by intermediate liquid. This mechanism is particularly important in mechanical design Francis turbines, where vibration turbine runner with adjacent non-rotating structure. The disks measured using laser Doppler velocimetry (LDV). Whereas we could use standard scanning LDV system measure disk, had implement polar scan unit based on self-tracking method. Here show concept...
