Type of Research: Multicenter nonrandomized retrospective cohort utilizing NIS data.Key Findings: In examining 455,111 cases venous thromboembolism, comprising 189,271 PE and177,410 DVT cases, a significant upward trend in hospitalization incidences was observed, specifically for PE. Black patients demonstrated the highest rates (10.36/1000 PE, 9.1/1000 DVT), while Asian and Pacific Islander had lowest. The regional were Mountain region (9.62/1000) Middle Atlantic (8.65/1000).Take home...
Studies have shown that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is associated with a hypercoagulable state. yet to examine the interconnectedness between COVID-19, hypercoagulability, and socioeconomics. The aim of this work was investigate socioeconomic factors may be pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), COVID-19 in United States.
Subclavian artery aneurysms (SCAAs) consist of approximately 1% all peripheral aneurysms. While the standard treatment has been open surgical repair (OSR), endovascular methods are gaining traction – especially with high risk OSR candidates. Endovascular subclavian (SCA) requires careful consideration vertebral arteries (VA) and Circle Willis anatomy. We describe a case 79-year-old female who presented right extrathoracic proximal SCAA associated neck mass. Our approach consisted...

Objectives Patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) often require treatment open lower extremity revascularization (LER). PAD have other comorbidities and associated conditions that affect procedural outcomes, including abdominal stomas. The aim of this work is to investigate the impact stomas may on postoperative outcomes complications. Methods We performed a 5-year (2016-2020) analysis Nationwide Readmission Database. identified all adult patients undergoing LER. These were...
Infra-popliteal artery aneurysms are uncommon. While literature has begun to accumulate on these aneurysms, is relatively lacking with respect the tibioperoneal trunk (TPT). We describe a case of 71-year-old male who presented true, atherosclerotic TPT aneurysm associated blue toe syndrome (BTS). Our surgical approach involved initial catheter directed thrombolysis followed by excision reversed great saphenous vein (GSV) interposition graft. A review suggests that this first report its kind....
