Fast and repetitive switching in high-power circuits is a challenging task where the ultimate solutions still have to be found. We proposed new approach. Supercritical fluids (SCFs) combine favorable properties of liquids - insulation strength, thermal behavior, gases self healing, high fluidity, absence vapor bubbles. That's why we start investigating subject plasma switches SC media. First results indicate excellent switch recovery very strength. present design SCF insulated (SC switch)....

We report on optical label swapping of combined frequency-shift keying/intensity modulation (FSK/IM) modulated signals by using a single wavelength conversion stage based semiconductor amplifier Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Simultaneous FSK erasure and insertion at bit rate 156 Mb/s is successfully achieved for 10-Gb/s IM payload with transmission over two spans 40-km standard single-mode fiber.

Ground-state potential energy surfaces for 176,178,180Pt have been calculated by using the Woods-Saxon single-particle and Strutinsky renormalisation procedure. These predict a ground-state shape change from large prolate deformation 178,180Pt ( beta 2 approximately=0.24) to smaller triaxial 176Pt with second minimum developing at approximately=0.23) above 4+ state. There is excellent agreement between these independent calculations recent measurements of yrast bands in 176,178Pt.

Supercritical fluid (SCF), characterized by high pressure and density, combines the advantage of gas liquid: ability mass transfer (dense, diffusivity low viscosity) heat (high conductivity). Research on discharge behavior SCF in electrical field is more recent less common, also motivated new environmental economical reasons. has potential power switching area, proposed to be alternative for voltage media, owing its distinguished breakdown strength, fast dielectric recovery, impact...

Classic field ionization requires extremely high positive electric fields, of the order a few million volts per centimeter. Here we show that can occur at dramatically lower fields on electrode silicon nanowires (SiNWs) with dense surface states and large enhancement factor. A structure using SiNWs as anode has been investigated, in which were fabricated by improved chemical etching process. At room temperature atmospheric pressure, breakdown air is reproducible fixed anode-to-cathode...

Important aspects of pulsed power processing that up to now received little attention are opened and summarized. A start is made in dealing with these aspects. They can be summarized as matching source process by controlling the global parameters impedance, time distribution, energy distribution spatial distribution. An application presented help changing future policy: direct conversion renewable into fuels.

Along with the large-scale new energy grid connection, number of synchronous units starting up has declined, and rotating moment inertia gradually become a scarce resource. Under market clearing method pricing electricity at marginal cost, it is difficult to guarantee recovery resource cost by relying only on compensation mechanism in energy. China's latest power auxiliary service management taken as one varieties, while China currently mainly using secondary FM for design. As service, focus...

Renewable energy sources, including wind farms and solar power plants, are gradually replacing traditional synchronous generators (SGs) as part of the effort to achieve net-zero carbon emissions. However, this transition also leads a reduction in system's inertia, especially significant proportion renewable is integrated into grid. Over time, operators provincial-level grids have faced challenge assessing monitoring inertia levels within system, which crucial for guiding planning new...
