The purpose of this study was to report on our experience salvage nasopharyngectomy using the maxillary swing approach for persistent or recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma after primary treatment.Over past 2 decades, we have performed nasopharyngectomies 246 patients. Thirty-seven patients (15%) had disease and 209 (85%) tumors. All survived operation with minimal morbidity. Negative resection margins were achieved in 191 (78%), 55 (22%) microscopic residual disease. median follow-up 38...

Abstract Background. The quantity of circulating cell–free Epstein‐Barr virus (EBV) DNA in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) managed by radiotherapy has prognostic relevance. We measured the copy number EBV early recurrent NPC before and after salvage nasopharyngectomy. Methods. Nasopharyngectomy maxillary swing approach was performed for 28 patients. Serum blood samples were taken prospectively nasopharyngectomy on postoperative day 7. Plasma copies a real‐time quantitative...

We conducted a retrospective review of the prognosis for patients with local recurrence after surgical treatment carcinoma tongue. Glossectomy squamous cell tongue was performed in 167 patients. Local developed 32 including 21 alone, 10 locoregional and one locodistant recurrence. The incidence increased tumor stage (from 16% T1 tumors to 46% T4 carcinomas). Eleven (34%) underwent salvage recurrence, only (9%) patient surviving free at 43 months post-surgical salvage. All remaining were...

Inertial appendages (e.g., tails and reaction wheels) have shown their reorientation capability to enhance robots' mobility while airborne or improve safety in falling. The tail, especially with two Degrees of Freedom (DoFs), is normally subject its limited Range Motion (RoM). Although the wheel circumvents this limitation, efficiency has been lower than tail terms inducing Moment Inertia (MoI). In literature, only one type inertial used on terrestrial robots air, e.g., either using a...

The study of underactuated robotics, especially with hardware implementation, has received more and attention recently. Many existing robotic systems were often built complicated structures algorithms that prohibit learners from acquiring knowledge easily. Given the increasing demand on online teaching off-campus learning due to pandemic, portable multifunctional platforms open-source software are desirable. However, even for those simple such as Pendubot Acrobot, their may not satisfy new...

In many outdoor inductive charging applications, the objects can move quickly, and environment change unpredictably. It is therefore difficult to design a fast controller that tracks in mutual coupling between transmitter receiver. The diminished power delivery either leads incomplete or prolongs time. this paper, concept of zone impedance matching technique proposed. This pre-matches coil desired coefficients. Thus, transfer capability charger be maintained at reasonably high level over...
