A detailed study of the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties garnet compound ${\mathrm{Mn}}_{3}{\mathrm{Cr}}_{2}{\mathrm{Ge}}_{3}{\mathrm{O}}_{12}$ is carried out using x-ray diffraction, magnetization, heat capacity, neutron diffraction measurements as well ab initio band-structure calculations. This manifests two successive transitions at ${T}_{\mathrm{N}1}\ensuremath{\simeq}4.5\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$...

Single-crystal growth, magnetic properties, and magnetocaloric effect of the $S=3/2$ kagome ferromagnet ${\mathrm{Li}}_{9}{\mathrm{Cr}}_{3}({\mathrm{P}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{7}{)}_{3}({\mathrm{PO}}_{4}{)}_{2}$ (trigonal, space group: $P\overline{3}c1$) are reported. Magnetization data suggest dominant ferromagnetic intraplane coupling with a weak anisotropy onset ordering at ${T}_{C}\ensuremath{\simeq}2.6$ K. Microscopic analysis reveals very small ratio interlayer to intralayer couplings...

We present the low-temperature magnetic properties of two Yb$^{3+}$-based triangular lattice compounds NaSrYb(BO$_3$)$_2$ and K$_3$YbSi$_2$O$_7$ via thermodynamic measurements followed by crystal electric field (CEF) calculations. Magnetization specific heat data as well CEF energy levels confirm that ground state is characterized low-lying Kramers' doublet Yb$^{3+}$ with effective spin-1/2 ($J_{\rm eff} = 1/2$). A small Curie-Weiss temperature scaling isotherms corroborate very weak...

A detailed study of the structural and magnetic properties a garnet compound Mn$_{3}$Cr$_{2}$Ge$_{3}$O$_{12}$ is carried out using x-ray diffraction, magnetization, heat capacity, neutron diffraction measurements. This manifests two successive transitions at $T_{\rm N1} \simeq 4.5$ K N2} 2.7$ K. Neutron powder experiments reveal that these correspond to orderings Cr$^{3+}$ Mn$^{2+}$ sub-lattices, respectively. The ordering N1}$ found be collinear antiferromagnetic type while one N2}$...

A detailed study of the structural and magnetic properties spin-$3/2$ hyperkagome lattice compound Li$_2$MgMn$_3$O$_8$ is reported. This material shows ferromagnetic response below $T_{\rm C} \simeq 20.6$ K, temperature almost three times lower than Curie-Weiss $\theta_{\rm CW} 56.6$ K. Density-functional band-structure calculations suggest that this reduction in C}$ may be caused by long-range antiferromagnetic couplings frustrate nearest-neighbor on lattice. Large magnetocaloric effect...
