ABSTRACT
Abstract Nanoparticle (NP) assemblies have been studied over the past several decades, and field is advancing more quickly reaching into diverse fields. Reports issued from academic industrial laboratories driven these advances. Countless breakthroughs reported in widely different fields, including thermoelectronics, photoelectronics, catalysts, energy sources, medical carriers. A “family tree” clearly needed to accurately trace developments study of NP assemblies. This review uses unconventional approach comparing atomic worlds describe development research during decades. The corresponding classifications, such as atoms NPs, molecules molecular‐type assemblies, crystals crystalline‐type biological organisms analogous artificial biologically functional complex are discussed detail. It concludes with remarks concerning trend nonliving living applications
