ABSTRACT
Abstract Titanium sesquioxide (Ti 2 O 3 ) is drawing broad attention due to its fascinating physical properties and promising applications in the fields of energy, biomedicine, electronics, among others. Its richness mainly strongly correlated d 1 electrons on Ti 3+ sites. In stark contrast titanium dioxide (TiO ), has an ultra‐narrow bandgap (≈0.1 eV) at room temperature, resulting from strong correlation electrons. Distinct electrical optical are introduced , accompanied with varied intriguing applications. Remarkable photothermal conversion, infrared photodetection, electrocatalytic have been reported explored past few years. Based unique excellent properties, utilized seawater desalination, water splitting, cancer therapy, hydrogen production, mid‐infrared nitrogen fixation, Li‐ion batteries, etc. Herein, fabrication, structural electronic comprehensively introduced, a focused summary recent research progress Finally, current challenges, opportunities, future perspectives discussed.
