ABSTRACT
Nanosized metallo-supramolecular compounds, [Ni2 L3 ](4+) and [Fe2 , can not only strongly inhibit Aβ aggregation but also reduce the peroxidase activity of Aβ-heme. Further studies demonstrate that through blocking heme-binding site, these two compounds suppress Aβ-induced biosynthesis heme iron uptake in PC12 cells. This work provides new insights into molecular mechanisms inhibitors on Aβ-mediated neurotoxicity.
