A new generation of adsorbents is designed by grafting smart molecular gates onto the orifices mesopores. The are reversibly closed/opened according to adsorption/desorption conditions. can thus realize both selective adsorption and efficient desorption, which extremely desirable for adsorptive separation but unlikely conventional with fixed pore openings.
