ABSTRACT
Abstract The enhancement of catalytic performance cobalt phosphide‐based catalysts is highly desirable but still challenging to replace noble metal for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in alkaline. Here, a unique hetero‐nanostructure CoP nanosheets (CoP NS) grafted by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) reported. As analyzed and discussed, well‐maintained open porous structure abundant active interfaces between CNTs NS at NS/CNTs catalyst, together with enlarged sites, reduce HER energy barrier, increase charge transfer rate offered hybrid structure, contribute extraordinary water reduction performance. Furthermore, wettability also enhanced relative NS. Consequently, this shows significantly high‐efficiency activity 1.0 m KOH electrolyte negligible onset overpotential, small overpotential 68 mV −10 mA cm −2 , low Tafel slope 57 dec −1 stability up 24 h, which among best reported values CoP‐based electrocatalysts alkaline media date. This study provides an insight into rational design low‐cost synthesis non‐precious‐based based on high efficiency HER.
