ABSTRACT
Abstract The mechano‐chromic photonic crystals (MPCs) show self‐restricted applications because they only exhibit bright reflective color on the black substrates but dim, complex, or white colors with different due to superposition of incoherent scattering light from MPCs and substrates. Herein, substrate‐independent brilliant colors, highly ordered structures, superior performances are fabricated through co‐assembly same size silica silica‐polydopamine (PDA) particles into polymers. silica‐PDA can efficiently absorb harmful lights negligible effects long‐range order thus endow regardless Compared conventional MPCs, as‐fabricated at relaxing stretching states, showing their great potential as real visual sensors. Moreover, based characteristics double‐layer patterns color‐independent properties each side pristine diverse changes both sides upon stretching, prepared be used for anti‐counterfeiting.
