ABSTRACT
Abstract Drug disposal and abuse are increasing every year, the use of drugs has recently reached its peak due to COVID‐19. However, there still remains a lack awareness regarding proper waste medications, if not properly disposed of, these complex chemical structures can have severe environmental impacts. Furthermore, as this contains chemically valuable substances, recycling strategy is needed. To address issue, potential reusing expired commercial acetaminophen tablets freeze‐dried (FAP) for lithium‐ion battery (LIB) anode material investigated. The Li storage mechanism electrochemical performance investigated via density functional theory, ex situ Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy, galvanostatic discharge/charge analysis, cyclic voltammetry. FAP exhibited excellent performances cycle stability. This study will present new approach, results demonstrate application medications in LIBs, which contribute resource recovery circular economy.
