ABSTRACT
Abstract During the past decade, metasurfaces have provided a versatile platform for controlling amplitude, phase, and polarization of electromagnetic waves, thus showing great potential developing compact photonic devices. However, broadband terahertz (THz) components are still scarce high‐speed communication spectroscopy analysis. Here, free‐standing metasurface is designed to realize efficient wavefront manipulation in THz regime. The proposed consists single patterned metallic layer on an ultra‐thin flexible substrate. full‐span phase control circularly cross‐polarized waves can be achieved based Pancharatnam‐Berry mechanism only by spatially varying element orientation. Besides, it operate range 0.35–1.21 (relative bandwidth 111%), with efficiency approaching theoretical limit single‐layer metasurface. It demonstrated that used numerous applications, including but not limited beam steering, focusing, vortex generation. performances allow pulsed spectral imaging system record evolution process real‐time. may trigger many exciting opportunities wireless communication, medicine, applications.
