ABSTRACT
Abstract This article presents an approach to achieve a fast and analog geometrical phase modulation based on the optical axis rotation of defect‐free Deformed Helix Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal (DHFLC) with short pitch. study demonstrates Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) prototype feature size 3 µm without Fringe Field Effect (FFE), having depth 1.9π, switching time (<250 µs) at low operating voltage (<7 V), high diffraction efficiency (>77%). The is achieved by developing DHFLC cone angle up 85˚, which inherently immune FFE. ellipticity minimized using compensation film that can suppress changes in birefringence under applied electric field. proposed SLM promising applications such as real‐time hologram dynamic beam steering Ranging Detector (LiDAR).
