ABSTRACT
Abstract Micromixers play an important role in the micro total analysis systems (µTAS) that require rapid and effective mixing. However, current micromixers are usually designed to meet need for mixing at limited Reynolds numbers. Herein, this paper presents a high‐performance 3D micromixer with helical elements over wide numbers achieve efficient has numerically investigated flow patterns characteristics accordingly. A coupled numerical model is built analyze pattern, behavior, residence time distribution (RTD), performance of micromixer. Helical inside could greatly enhance secondary induce chaotic advection around. Dean vortices observed micromixer, enormously shortening RTD promoting related effect. Furthermore, effects various geometric parameters systematically optimize The optimized shows excellent ability ranging from 0.01 2333.3, efficiency 94%. In addition, results proved well consistent analytical experimental data correspondingly. Therefore, work would potentially expand use scope provide constructive strategy develop essential parts involving or reacting process µTAS.
