ABSTRACT
Abstract The viability of using thrombus heterogeneity (TH) data derived from dual‐energy CT (DECT) as a visual thrombotic biomarker is unclear. first aim this study to develop quantitative measure TH on DECT and test its performance for predicting the stroke source (cardiogenic vs. non‐cardiogenic) clinical outcomes (functional status assessed by modified Rankin Scale score at 90 days) following machine thrombectomy (MT). second associate subregions with composition facilitate visualization constituents. Radiomics are extracted whole in CT/DECT construct predictive models. performances all models evaluated compared validation comparative cohorts. Histopathologic analysis performed correlate subregion actual composition. This included 221 255 participants who underwent examinations, respectively. outperformed outcomes, TH‐related showing highest Thrombus correlated different CT/DECT‐based subregions, DECT‐habitat_c strongest association. analyses may help visualize related
