ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Alzheimer’s disease (AD) blood tests are needed to aid in the evaluation of dementia, but performance these should be evaluated diverse groups and real‐world settings. The goals Study Evaluate Amyloid Blood Imaging Related Dementia (SEABIRD) were enroll 1120 participants determine participant acceptability validity (relative amyloid PET) a plasma amyloid‐β 42/40 test diverse, community‐based sample older adults, explore impact important factors (age, race, education, cognition, APOE genotype, medical conditions) on test’s performance. Method SEABIRD measured population adults Saint Louis, Missouri, USA area. Participants completed collection, cognitive screening (AD8® dementia interview Montreal Cognitive Assessment [MoCA]), survey about their study experience perceptions test. A subset additional collection for reproducibility, PET MRI validation test, Clinical Rating® (CDR) measures. Result Of 859 enrolled this ongoing study, 20.6% self‐identified as Black or African American percentage ε4 carriers was 30.2% ( Table 1 ). Compared general population, more likely female, aged 70‐79 years, highly educated. They less report high cholesterol, diabetes, kidney disease, stroke, depression. receiver operating characteristic area under curve distinguishing cognitively unimpaired (CDR = 0) from impaired (CDR>0) individuals 0.72 informant‐rated AD8, 0.46 self‐rated 0.70 MoCA, 0.79 AD8/MoCA composite 2 Survey results indicated that well accepted Figure ), it perceived positively by white educated individuals. Conclusion an AD achieved rapid enrollment, broader diversity than typical cohorts, rates participation. These suggest could used clinical population.
