ABSTRACT
Abstract Ligand‐induced surface restructuring with heteroatomic doping is used to precisely modify the of a prototypical [Au 25 (SR 1 ) 18 ] − cluster ( while maintaining its icosahedral Au 13 core for synthesis new bimetallic 19 Cd 3 2 ). Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction studies reveal that six bidentate motifs (L2) attached were replaced by three quadridentate Cd(SR 6 (L4) create . Experimental and theoretical results demonstrate stronger electronic interaction between (Au core, attributed more compact structure larger energy gap compared These factors dramatically enhance photoluminescence quantum efficiency lifetime crystal This work provides route design wide range bimetallic/alloy metal nanoclusters superior optoelectronic properties functionality.
